Another paranoid depiction. Truly amazing from a guy who didn’t mind “signing statements” and Executive Orders from Bush defying the Constitution, and taking away our rights and privileges. (YEs, some things ARE privileges, not “rights”)
Hmm, on reflection, maybe Ramirez is saying government is a bridge that guards and protects our liberty, like well, our military and courts as two examples?
swr, I realize you never pay attention, but I’ve often and loud criticized Obama for continuing to use obnoxious elements of the “Patriot Act” and other invasions of liberty. NO, not a double standard, but what Reagan, Bush 41 and 43 did was so much worse, and in violation of multiple laws (remember Iran/Contra) Obama still has to work really hard to catch up.

Again with an ad hominem? You are short on ideas yourself and still a pompous ||.You assumed there are only one or two possibilities in your original poorly thought out post. There is, at least, a third possibility that you failed to think of our posit.Neither of the two symbols used in the cartoon are static, the yoke (how appropriate is that?) of government has grown while the rest of the bell, representing our liberties, has shrunk. Now, if you weren’t such a stuffed shirt, pseudo intellectual, pompous ||, I would take umbrage at your remarks. I fully understand what I write as well as being quite familiar with the world around me. You on the other hand seem to have a heightened opinion of yourself and that usually happens to those folks that live in a very insular world and have lots of sycophants around them to boost their own self worth.I fully intend to have a nice life, it’s been pretty darn good so far.P.S. Learn a little basic html, it will help to make you look a little more capable.
