Tea Partier here and you apparently drank the Madow/Jon Stewat kool-aid on what the Tea Party represents. Mainly we’re just concerned with the Fed getting the hell out of pocketbooks. I and many of my fellow tea partiers applaud the SCOTUS decision as it does exactly what it’s supposed to do: put the decision back in the hands of the States. Now if the LGBT has a problem w/ how marriage is defined, you can take it up w/ the state they live in.

Well, the DOMA one anyway. The Prop 8 decision was terrible as it does the exact opposite. They not only decided that if a majority passes a law the elected officials don’t want to enforce then the public has no recourse. Imagine it was the opposite situation: the public votes in gay marriage as legal in — say Alabama. Then the governor and all government officials refuse to marry people of the same sex. Homosexual couples would have no recourse at the federal level.

Actually this issue only effects about 1% of the population (homosexuals) and even of those, only about a quarter will actually get married.I’m glad this stupid sideshow has been put to rest along with the Dems race card after getting a black guy into the White House.I’m sure they are scrambling to find their next group of “Victims”.Oh ya, they’ve got the Illegals!

You do realize it was the Republican party that stated “We dont run our campaigns on fact checking” You know this right? Did you miss that somehow? I’m sure I can find you about 300 links to the satory if you would like.

So you would have been fine with voting on civil rights laws in the 60s then right? You think it would have been ok for the majorities in states like Alabama and Mississippi to say Jim Crow laws are legal and just? If you agree with that you sir are a racist biggot, if you dont agree with that then your post is idiotic, which is it?

Too many who self label as “conservative” live in a very small minded world. No desire to reach out and learn only to blindly follow elevated bozo’s. A loss for them their family and society.

“what a liberal thinks is a lie the rest of the world knows a truth”The rest of the world believes global climate change is the truth. It’s not American liberals who say it’s a lie.

You certainly could be correct there. Wayne Pacelle certainly seems to have all the zoophilia information at his fingertips.

    He’s a natural, all right.

“The working number has been about 10% of the population. I had seen numbers at 15% which made the Gay minority one of the largest minorities in the nation.”

Yep, that’s the oldest, best established estimate. It may actually be a little higher in urban America than some other places. I posted a link to some contemporary stats in a previous post – but as I said in a previous post, counting GLB’s is more like herding cats than anything else. Self reporting of something to which there is so much social hostility is bound to result in under counts.

I’d be very surprised if the true percentage was different from the historical, global one.

“- Unconstitutional laws don’t stand, no matter how “popular.””

    Come again???

If that were the case, we would not be living with all these civil forfeiture laws. Those have been well established over the long term, they surely must be constitutional, but they are certainly standing.

    ???

“Global man made climate change is a lie. Climate cxhange is real.”

The whole debate is a red herring designed to deflect us from demanding environmental cleanup. Climate change is irrelevant; we have adapted to that before, we will again.

What we cannot hope to survive is the continued toxicity of our water and food. In a sane world, environment cleanup would be everybody’s priority. Only in ‘civilization’ do we pay multi billionaire corporations out of the public coffers to poison our wells. ‘Primitive’ peoples, so called, reserve their most severe punishments for those who poison wells.

I must be very primitive; I think that if we are entitled to anything at all, it would be clean food and water.

Unconstitutional laws stand until the public elects reps who will actually put the peoples’ business first, or until the SCOTUS gets some balls. Kelo and Citizens United were/are abominations, but there is no will in Congress to do the right thing. Where is the next Earl Warren? It certainly isn’t John Roberts!

What you are afraid to accept is that you have a blood relative or good friend who is a moral degenerate. Get ready to realize you hate a loved one or friend. They’ll come out eventually and you’ll have to face the consequences of your constant homophobic remarks. Good luck.

Prop 8 ruling by lower courts is what it is. But SCOTUS refusing to hear the case is what I’m referring to. The appeal to SCOTUS was essentially “the government isn’t enforcing the law of the land — do something.” and they said “Nope”.
