we see our Christian heritage in the USA being trashed, step by step, and it is the prophesied “latter days” of the Church Age; Jesus said earth would be sinful and violent just like the population God drowned in the lifetime of Noah and his wife and 3 married sons. Evil is being called “good” and Biblical standards are being called “evil” by haters of God and His Bible, the only reliable written history of Man since Adam.-God created Adam and Eve and instituted Marriage, in the beginning, in Eden. Adam’s sin ended the Garden Age, and began the war between good and evil, with Satan (Lucifer, the fallen angel) trying to steal every man and woman from God’s adopted family that will inherit eternal life. Death is the inheritance of God-haters who defy God’s rules and laws.Salvation is offered to all, but sin and human nature influences the majority of humans to defy God and seal their own doom. Sad. But Nature and history and Bible testify to the truth, to all Mankind. No excuse for missing Heaven. Jesus is the only “Way” and faith in Him secures salvation from eternal death. I pray many more will accept the truth and enjoy eternity with God in peace in the remodeled earth and the New Jerusalem that will come to earth.

“As for marriage, it is not in the Constitution. Therefore it is a states rights or community rights issue.“Government sanctioned marriage affords protections and benefits that aren’t given to non married couples. This is a equal protection issue. If the government didn’t offer married couples those protections and benefits, it wouldn’t matter who was allowed to marry whom. It’s both a state and federal issue because those protections and benefits are offered by both.”I can’t wait for the gay divorces to start and things get all bloody and messy in the gay community."Gays can’t do much worse than the nasty divorces straight couples have shown capable of. My parent’s divorce took over two years to finalize. A friend’s ex-wife got so nasty, she made false accusations to the Secret Service. A former co-worker’s divorce involved the police on several occasions, 2 “permanent” child custody changes, and several allegations of child abuse and neglect. As for the “sanctity” of your marriage, that was diminished by all of those drunken Vegas marriages that ended the moment the couple sobered up.

Rush Limbaugh. Mickey Rooney. Elizabeth Taylor. Dems, Repubs and Indies. Preachers teachers and government workers. And of course Henry VIII, who created his own church to get his second divorce after the Pope granted him his first one!

“Anyone remember these little words, and where they came from??”

Most seem to cite the Constitution, but I believe it is actually from the preamble to same. YMMV.

However, I would like to point out that in law, and the generic, the term ‘men’ refers to all ‘men’, both genders, unless there is a reason to be explicit as to gender.

Jefferson may have overlooked that detail, open chauvinism being the order of the day back then, but in 2013, I think we can afford to demand that that syntactical principle be adhered to.

    Women are not chattel.

“Yeah! I remember what it was written in the History books, They wrote;“All Men are created equal” when those same writers held slaves and large plantations where they could have sex with their slave girls any time they wanted! Can you spell “Hypocrisy” for us!”

The slavery of the time has been addressed – You do recall the Emancipation Declaration ..?

It seems something of an irony that homosexuality should be addressed before the fundamental issue of gender equality.

    Time to demand it.

“In other words, the socialists are ignoring their “separation of church and state” clause …”

    How so?

What this does is ratify and confirm State’s Rights on the matter.

It sounds like what you want to do is impose your personal religious standards on the rest of us.

Your last comment is pure mean spiritedness. Clearly you don’t follow the Law of Three.

Heller’s portraying a false equivalency here. The Voting Rights Act protected the right to vote which is now at risk. DOMA blocked a right from being exercised.
