The leaded gas makes no sense. In a dense population it then should affect EVERYONE with the same results, yet…..it doesn’t….try again….

There’s 10 times the amount of lead in jet fuel. It’s still used today. It rains lead.

“Don’t tell Obama and the Democrats or they’ll bring back leaded gas to dull the populace into believing them!”…………………………………………………….How is it that trolls can always turn ANY and EVERY thing into an offensive political comment? (I’m asking YOU because I figured you’d know.)

@mextea – lead bullets are not the norm anymore. Most ranges won’t let you shoot lead and you don’t want to hunt with lead either.

There are a few other Stats that may correlate to reduced violent crime (murder, rape, muggings, etc.). Hand gun ownership has gone up during the same time (citizens are no longer depending on cops- including Liberals). States that have passed Carry Concealed Weapons Laws have seen over 20% drop in crime (it is dangerous to be a criminal). Abortions are high in Crime Neighborhoods (fewer kids growing up to be criminals). The numbers of the age-group that is usually involved in crime has decreased significantly (too old to be bad). And of course, there are lots more criminals in jails than before (can’t do a crime if you are doing the ‘time’).

Actually, leaded gas was finally banned in 1996. It does not explain why anyone would want to play Quidditch.

jet fuel does not contain lead. It is essentially kerosene. Avgas (100LL) does have lead, it is used in reciprocating engines (think singles and light twins)

As I recall, unleaded gas was used first, but then later it was a big deal when lead was added to improve engine lubrication. So, why didn’t we stay with unleaded? It works now.
