My dad was late for his own funeral. The funeral procession of cars, leaving the funeral home to go to the church was so long that we were actually ten minutes late. Dad would have gotten a chuckle out of that.
my dad and his twin talked all the time that if one died the other would get in his casket and great the mourners…then my uncle died very unexpectantly…

Wife’s uncle was late for his own funeral-Was murdered in Saudi Arabia and casket flight was delayed.

Read a news item years ago about a man who was late because the bottom dropped out of the casket on the way up the church steps!
