Suddenly remembered one of the best Mutt and Jeff comix I read as a kid. Mutt sees Jeff painting rapidly, and when he asks why, Jeff tells him he is nearly out of paint and is trying to finish the job before all the paint is gone.
Love the hat lifts in this comics (this one and other strips).
