Good morning, Vagabonds. In preparation for my new Turkish friends’ visit, I did a whole makeover of my room, uploading newspaper articles to my computer so I could get rid of the papers. That’s why you, David, as well as others, have received so many emails of articles from me.

My room straightened up, my new friends came and we had a wonderful time eating Oriental rice pilaf (I added onions, raisins and veggie burgers to the original recipe – we are all vegetarians,, even though I lost at Scrabble in Turkish.

Good morning to the Vagabonds. It looks like we may be getting out of the rain pattern for the next week but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Will check in later, probably in the afternoon, to see what is going on.

Morning, Vagabonds.I spent a couple hours reorganizing my sermon files, something that’s gone unattended to for years. Although I’m retired, I’m still a preacher and I have to take care of the tools of my trade.

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

It reached 99.1 yesterday! UGH! and only down to 65 during the night. :((

Gotta go and take care of the garden before it gets too hot. Supposed to only get to 91 today. :))

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Rita, I would almost KILL for a 65 degree night. When I got up at 6:30 this morning, it was 95. As you said, UGH!

I enjoyed everyone’s memories yesterday. As Slim said it is always fun to open doors that have long been closed on such subjects.

SHAZAM!!! Captain Marvel is my all time favorite serial.Lived on Page St., across from the Library. About two and a half blocks from the main part of Golden Gate Park.Every Saturday, dime in hand, walk down to the corner and up a block to Haight St. There was the theater.. That theater remains in my mind for two reasons. The first is that that was where I saw Captain Marvel. The other was because that’s where I lost a hero.A runaway horse, pulling a wagon goes over a bluff into a stream, with a man riding in the wagon. Cut away briefly, then back to show the man from the wagon walking up from the water. It was Roy Rogers, perfectly dry, trousers creased and all and…. I saw the unreality of it . He should have at least been damp wet. Logic and reason are, I guess, a part of growing up,? And as I aged I found their answers are not always pleasant.
