good morning, Vagabonds. Yesterday I waited until sundown to go to Queens to buy almonds from a large Indian supermarket in a South Asian neighborhood (Jackson Heights). I don’t shop for food on MY Sabbath (sundown Friday to Sundown Sat) so it was dark when I left my home. I had to take 2 subways to get there and that station has 3 elevators, one for each level – it would have murdered me to walk up all those stairs. So many people were waiting for each elevator I had to wait for the next “shift.” By the time I reached the store, it had just closed. Not wanting to return home emptyhanded, I knocked on the door, pleading that I had travelled from a different boro to get there. So they opened the door and brought me a 4 pound bag of salt-free almonds for $16. I was glad to buy them. Is $16 the normal price for 4 pounds of shelled almonds?

Good morning Vagabonds and good evening to our western ones.

My wife is catching up on her sleep, all that she lost in the hospital and the rehab. Thurs. night she slept solidly for almost 8 hours with only having to go to the bathroom once. The visiting nurse was here on Fri. and the P/T was here yesterday. The P/T was filling in for the weekend. The one that will be coming regularly is the one I had last year for my knee. She is very good. My wife is walking good, it’s the getting in and out of bed that hurts her the most.

Morning, Vagabonds.Don’t let anyone tell you that powerwashing the house is easy work. When we finished yesterday, we were worn out. And I still haven’t done the driveway.

Well, it’s almost 6 AM. In a little bit here, we’ll be getting ready for church.

    Good Morning, Everyone,

Up here, a red sun is only from smoke from wildfires. :((

There are so many burning in the west and northwest. Our wind pattern is usually from the southwest, and those fires from around Boise, Idaho are the culprits. Last night the wind was from the Seattle area, and we had a clear sky, and a regular white moon, and very light haze this a.m.

Arye, not sure how much Almonds are………I buy them in a 2 lb pack from Costco, and those are about 8 dollars or less. So, 16.00 for 4 pounds sounds about right. Either way, you had a wonderful storekeeper take care of you!

Just a quick lookup on the internet shows almond prices anywhere from $4.39 per pound for bulk to $7.99 for 9 ounces. Arye, I would say you got a good deal.
