good morning, vagabonds.@David: Today is the day!! Congratulations. From now on you are the boss of your time.Today I plan to go to the Bukharian Festival in Queens. There will be Uzbek and Tajik folk dances as performed by Bukharian Jewish kids.

For those who missed my late-time post yesterday, I’ll repeat it here:

I think I’m getting a scam call – tell me what you think. This is already the 2nd time I’ve received this call. A man tells me I’m to receive a medical alert system (from area code 845) and it’s already paid for. I try to interrupt him but he continues as if he doesn’t hear me. To show that he’s talking live, he continues, “Let’s see now…” I then realize it’s a recording and when he asks me to “press “1” to confirm,” I hang up.

Morning, Vagabonds.Last day. I can hardly believe it, after 42 years. My last day. Arye’s right, I’m no longer going to have 200 bosses. From now on there’s one Boss, and one boss (my wife). You can figure out who Boss number one is. And Woodworker, don’t worry, I promise you I will.

    Good Morning, Everyone,

Beautiful day here in God’s Country. Clear, sunny, and right now 51. The next few days it’ll be in the 70’s, but by next week end, it’ll be in the high 80’s! Summer is here.

Arye, it sounds like a scam, but, you can either check on line to see if such a thing exists, or ask your doctor’s office.

Jan………regarding your comment about the desert heat………..we sort of lived in the desert for a lifetime, too. The San Fernando Valley got the 100 plus degree heat all summer long. But, when we moved to Acton (the high desert) it was much dryer. And, yes, it made it more tolerable. The 100 plus days were not as frequent thankfully. You have to go where the jobs are, right? Well, right after retirement, we boogied………………..out of the high heat and have enjoyed it ever since. (I think the older I got I couldn’t tolerate those hot days!)

@davidf42- same here 42yrs.- my first couple of weeksseemed like I was one my usual few weeks vacation, after about a month- it hit me— I CAN SLEEP IN TOO 8:30or after 9:00 in the AM, still do to this day. My day now starts after lunch- AM- read the paper, w/my coffee, then breakfastthen usually Price is Right, then 12:00 news- then my day starts- lunch- high paced walk, followed by hand weights-work out in place- then errands/ and or house choirs/then sit out and read for an hour/ then hit the pool downsouth or the lake here up north, and HEY, it’s time to think about dinner..

Once you get into a schedule- you will wonder why you didn’tretire earlier, as time seems to go way to fast now, as the clock is “ticking”

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

David, congratulations on your retirement. Today was a day of celebration at our church. Just as you are retiring, our associate pastor has been restored to his position after 16 months of repentance, accountability and love from us, the congregation. Psalm 23 says “He restores my soul.” Well, today He restored Tim to us.

Woodworker, I didn’t know you had a choir in your house. How many voices? Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
