Obviously this was a tragic mistake by a less than competent administration.Did O want 4 Americans to die? No, I don’t think he did and most Americans don’t either.

BUT, the real story is that the administration DELIBERATELY decided that this news of a terrorist attack killing our AMBASSADOR and 3 other Americans on the anniversary of 9/11 was not good for his re-election hopes and therefore a false story should be created.

    That is the truth.

Use United States Military personnel in Libya???Didn’t you guys yell and scream bloody murder when Obama provided Air Force support for the French led mission to support the rebels in Libya without Congressional approval? Where they didn’t even have boots on the ground? If he had sent military personnel in for a MERE local riot you guys would have lynched him.

I keep reading on this forum a new term, “low information voters”. It’s only ever uttered by folks on the right, and bizarrely, whenever they display an obvious stretch of the truth or ignorance on the subject. I keep telling my compatriots that it is a fallacy that Americans do not understand irony.

Was this new term coined by Faux News? (which would be supreme irony)

My initial point is proven, the “NO INFORMATION” voters in the ditthead brigade speak loud and long. Interesting that they hate all government, until one of our people (or a whole 4) are killed, then it’s all Obama’s fault. Gee, where were they when the lies killed over 5,000 of our troops, and a few hundred thousand innocent civilians under “W”??

Wann know whats pitiful? Each “Side” accuses the other of not researching information and seeking the “truth” when neither “side” has a clue as to what the TRUTH really is. Information is so warped to one’s political slant that anyone who TRULY wants TRUTH has no clue as to who to believe. Was GWB perfect? No way Jose! Is BHO a saint? Not even close! When everyone admits they could be wrong, we may find out what really happened. I still love Howard Stern’s stunt during the Election of 2008.We dont ask for the truth, we simply want to know who says what.

It’s so obvious, I don’t know why Obama didn’t think of it. He must have been golfing at midnight while this was going on. So here’s what we do – we send in Rambo. He daringly fights his way to the heart of the siege, he single handedly blows up the bad guys, he rescues the good guys, he escapes with the diplomats with no loss of life. Then we make a movie extolling the bravery of American heroes and we sit around drinking beer, eating steak, and waving the flag on July 4th.

What we do know: - Americans were attacked by a pre-planned terrorist attack on our Consulate in Benghazi, 11 years to the day after the original attacks in the US. - This pre-planned attack was not a random “MERE riot,” as some in the administration would have us believe, and nor was it in response to a video. You don’t bring mortar tubes and RPG’s to a riot.- Many people in the Administration lied about the cause of the attacks (Susan Rice repeatedly stated it was because of the video, as did Clinton and Obama), and we know those this to be the case because people who worked inside the situation have now testified that this was not, in fact, in response to the video.- We have had surprisingly little information as to what our POTUS was doing during the 7 hour siege. Part of being the POTUS, however, is getting those late-night calls and being apprised of a situation that was developing that involved Americans abroad. The only person to issue commands to the joint chiefs and SECDEF is the POTUS, and then it trickles down from there. - We have no denial that Obama was notified when it was happening.- We have testimony indicating the command was instructed to stand down by someone in the administration. - We have the argument that there were no means of getting aircraft or troops to Benghazi. But we have the world’s leading military with floats all over the place. You’re telling me you can’t spin up a jet with fuel pods to get over there and engage hostile troops while you’re spinning up/moving refueling planes? I don’t call that an argument, I call that an excuse. So while I’m not as zealous as my conservative brethren on these boards, my argument is that there is evidence that supports people within the administration were lying to the American public (Susan Rice being the most visible). What I am disappointed in is that many liberal members of these boards are closing ranks around anything tied to this Administration and blocking off facts that are present, and I’m shocked that they aren’t calling for a more thorough investigation into what’s going on in Washington. We should be following the trail back and if it leads to Obama, then so be it. But if it doesn’t, then it doesn’t. Stop using the tired excuse of what the Conservatives did is worse and instead try to pursue the truth of what went on. And the media isn’t digging far enough, because if this were a Republican president, they would be all over this like white on rice. I just want the truth, and what we know so far doesn’t paint a pretty picture.

While there is some truth to what you’re saying, all exaggerations have basis in truth. Each of the items you said has basis in reality: - Birth Cert has him listed as African American, a term not officially until the 80’s, after his birth, so it gives people ammunition to argue the case of Kenya.- Death Panels is a term to refer to the IPAB, a group of unelected bureaucrats that decide who gets what treatments, what is considered too old, etc. While death panels is a very strong and highly suspect turn of phrase, there is nothing good about the IPAB.- The “ism” – his relationship with those who preach the “ism” methodology tie him to that methodology. He has, however, admitted to wanting to “spread the wealth,” a socialistic approach to governing.- Destroying the economy is based on his lack of action in his first two years, instead spending his political capital on forcing the PPACA through. I would say his actions display more apathy than anything else.- Taking away your guns and turning the US over to the UN are focused on the perceived erosion of the 2nd Amendment, something many conservatives hold near and dear. There is fear that we are moving towards a slippery slope that will eventually have to submit to a firearm registry. I don’t think that’s what’s going on here, but I definitely think it is within the realm of plausibility.BUT, you have a very valid point. When someone is yelling and screaming about everything under the sun, sounding like a rabid groupie, it erodes the perception of your seriousness and makes your argument weak. I think that’s why it’s important to look at both sides of the argument and try to sort the crap from the real news. It’s sad, though, that our current Media is a ghost of its former self. The person responsible for breaking open Watergate got a Pulitzer. The person/people responsible for breaking open Benghazi is getting vilified. Why?

“There is no “truth”; it’s simply competing narratives. And to the extent that the Right’s is becoming more and more outrageous, they’re losing the contest.”Right now, you’re correct. But, like many things in life, politics is cyclical. Eventually, the roles will be reversed. I just hope that as lax as the media is on Obama, they are not more critical of a conservative when they get into office. More appropriately, however, is I would like the media to start being more critical of Obama, and equally critical of a conservative. What was I thinking? That will never happen. lol. Ah well, we can dream.
