When I first got glasses at 26, I bought what I thought was a cool black neck cord for them. I dumped the cord 2 years later. It’s been 20 years since then… I have not and will not buy a chain or cord again.

The glasses and chain must be husband and wife…

No in-between for me. I’ve needed glasses for regular seeing – not just reading – since I was 30. Since they pretty much stay on my nose I don’t need the chain. I recently “graduated” to bi-focals, which is the only “sign of age” I’ve suffered…and I got line-less.

at 43 I finally had to break down and get some reading glasses, never thought I would need em, oh well.

I started wearing glasses full time my senior year in high school. Two years ago, my eye doctor said the “B” word (Bifocals). When I told him I kinda suspected that, he said, “Yep, welcome to your 40’s.” Gee, thanks, doc.

I will be 40 next week and have already had my cataract surgery on both eyes. Now its just reading glasses, which I move to the top of my head when not needing them. I refuse to go with the cord! Does that make me “cord-less”?

When I started needing reading glasses, I bought low power x1.50 magnifying glasses at the dept. store ($5 or so). Work great. I have another stronger pair (x2.75) for closer electronic repair work. I would suggest to anyone to try these first before paying for prescription reading glasses. Even eye doctors will suggest this.

It must be an optical illusion that the vision before Garfield’s eyes has temples which appear to be too short to reach behind his ears.

Fortunately, eyeglasses have become extremely chic nowadays, so I don’t think this is a scary age-related nightmare at all!

Are we all missing the point? Garfield won’t need reading glasses because cat’s can’t ready anyway.

My solution to that one was to buy about 10 pair of cheap readers, and put them everywhere. House, garage, car, backpack, everywhere. Never a problem. Always right there where I need them.

Better keep this warnings in mind, Garfield.

That is if you don’t suffer from sudden memory loss.

I have similar eyes; the right one short sighted and the left one long sighted.

I’ve worn glasses since I was 7. The glasses I wore then made me a loser/pariah. Now, 24 years later, those glasses are “in” and “cool”, while the glasses I prefer – all metal frames (none of the half frames) are “out of style”. .Well screw that, I don’t give a damn about style anymore!

Well the trouble with me is I buy the cheap ones in my strength, & have 3pairs in the kitchen alone, in the living room another 2 pairs, but I still forget I have a pair on my head when I need them& go looking for them crazy

We have a gnome or something that sneaks around the house stealing TV remotes,keys, and my glasses..If I ever catch that little guy there will be hell to pay!

Happy Fathers Day, Jon! (I started wearing glasses at age 8 and couldn’t believe I was able to see leaves and their veins. Now wear contacts (nearsighted and astigmatism in one eye) with readers to help out. Contacts have improved so much over the years.

i have rimless ones and they need a tracking device on them when i mislay them
