I was about to post that I didn’t think Mr. Parmelee was “toes up”…cos where I come from that’s the same as …well…. you know….shuffled off this mortal coil….pushing up daisies….

or to put it … bluntly….er… pining for the fjords.

After all, we wouldn’t use 3-day-old banana peels in our drinks. At least they knew THAT much. They peeled FRESH bananas for the blender grinders….

Hopefully they’re just working on the site again and I thought it was MY fault that I couldn’t see Stel’s pictures (I especially look forward to hers because she is so creative. As to the ad,Surely some Blue agave nectar sweetener would be good in a Marg. made with Blue agave tequila. I hear that there is one version of prickley pear that is used for the best jam- had a marg made with that once (or twice- was good enough for 2). I plan to have some good margs now and then after this year.

I just saw that the health of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies is declining (in an email group). I’ll be looking into that; he wrote some great movie scores (I know some of you’all are into movies).

DAZZ, I’m not familiar with his music or movie scores, but then I’m not really up on classical music. A search on IMDB brought up a few movies I haven’t seen, but mostly British television shows, most of which appear to documentaries.

    Hullo all….

    I don’t have much time….

First downtown farmer’s market of the season tonight!

Too early for tomatoes…. I’ll see what I can bring home for tomorrow…Just stopped in to add to the chorus…As I predicted yesterday(?) when I noted that outages on this site usually occur during so-called “updates”which are often a step backwards…

    This new format ….sucks!

    (Can I say that?)

They seem to be blocking Photobucket and Flicker….Yet SOME older images from those sites work… and not others.

You CAN view them by right-clicking and selecting “view image” or “see picture” or whatever it says in your browser…. in Firefox it’s “view image.”But that will mean the page changes, so when you hit the back button you’ll get 15 comments again and have to reload the rest….(which will at least refresh the comments..)

Better yet, right click and select “Copy image URL” (or location) and paste that in the address bar, NOT the search field, of a second browser window (or in my case 7th or 10th.)

Then you can see it without closing THIS window.

BTW there are many hosting sites besides those two.For the moment, would be happy to discuss by e-mail (not today) … I don’t want to give GoComics any clues. LOL

If you still don’t have my address and would like it, go to “Agnes” for June 6th 2006.

Strangely, they have disabled the picture parameters, so everything posts at full width.

If using online pics please choose ones under 400 pixels wide…and if having them hosted online, save a version of the proper size to upload, rather than relying on a width=“y” command.

These are the pictures StelBel posted above…

    Nice work, Stel!

I stuck them on a different hosting site for you…Obviously I can’t do that for all the pics everybody posts… but I’ll give those who ask me some ideas on where and how to do it.

I do have to say…and I know some will disagree….

If GoComics has decided it’s too expensive to host all our pictures for free…. so they want to ferret out ALL the hosting sites and get rid of them, or to say only paid members can post them…I won’t like it one bit…But they ARE the ones footing the bill for the bandwidth here.

Meanwhile… we need to write to them and ask them POLITELY to give us back our pictures!

And our “refresh” button! This is a pain.

Thank you Susan and Stel. We are going to need a new page (to which I shall save a shortcut) of instructions from you gals on how we can post from Flickr NOW. I still can’t post any animations that I have saved (maybe because Flickr does not take them either – I LOVE things like that sparkley thankyou. In my decor, the more glitz the better.

Just went back to the birthday party and deleted all my illustrations there (most did not show, others were oversized). Maybe if we promise to clean up after ourselves, they might let us use the bandwidth long enough to let all see it. I’m always willing to help clean up.

I’m late for bed, but I must say that I’m sad that GoComics has banned shortcuts just when I finally got the hang of posting pictures. :-(+++++That said, I won’t have time for posting much anyways while I look for a job. So I’ll pop in when I can, and say good night, thusly:

Speaking of shoe leather, I got email that we will be having classes on June 1 and they were looking for teachers and their subjects to sign up. I will be teaching the turned shoes but first contacted one of the others who took the same class from Baron Ivan (who resides in Tucson) and I will try to cover in a 2hour class what he did in 2 days (basically helping each student make a pattern for THEIR foot soles and showing them how to pattern the uppers and letting them practice the 2 basic stitches on scraps of leather to take home. I hope to cover the rest with a printout of photos and directions. Having shoes that really fit perfectly is great; knowing you made them yourself is better!

GoComics hasn’t banned the short cuts. They now replace the exclamation points with <img src="URL" alt=""> in the img short cut (where URL is your link to the image). Note the double quotes around the URL.

    You type:!http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/x_Tech_nth/Emoticons/AddEmoticons0253.gif!HTML:<img src="http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/x_Tech_nth/Emoticons/AddEmoticons0253.gif" alt="">

The short cut still works, you just can’t add the width attribute. If you add width=’350 GoComics includes that in the link to Photobucket (or other hosting sites) which responds with “Image has been moved or deleted”.
