Heart drops… I feel bad for her!

Was really hoping it was just that she noticed tiff’s name on the “roster” or something. Unfortunate.

On second thought, forget about getting to see him.

High school drama camp? Don’t they accept anyone whose check doesn’t bounce?

I think we’ll find out that Tiffany had something to do with it

Luann…. brought to you by… Trust… as in I hope there will be enough to go around for her when it comes to Quill, provided that he is getting in…. and by… Fishy… as in something seems kinda fishy about her “letter”… perhaps….

Of course, Quill is there for her, not camp, so he could ‘call in sick’ or something, get the money refunded, and just hang out with her.

Or I should say provided that he still goes there upon his arrival…. Wonder if Luann will insist that he still go?

I agree that something is amiss with Luann’s rejection. Especially since Tiffany DID say she had an actual plan to lure Quill to her and have him at some place where even Luann won’t find him. Remember this?:

I saw that tear on Luanns’ cheek and it broke my heart as well.However…with that last panel I think Moms “Virgin Alarm” might have gone off (before Luann does) with a wink ;) to ‘SPACEBALLS’.

Augh! I had to come out of the world of non-commenters just to say NOOOOOO!!!!! Why can’t Luann it just work out for Luann this summer???? Let the girl have a summer romance! Even the teens with angst deserve a sweet summer romance once in their lives!

Quill and Tiffany, together at drama camp. Luann on the outside. Yup, there’s going to be a lot of drama all right, and that’s what the strip is about. I’ll be very interested to see how this all “plays” out.

Ohhhh. No. I am soooo disappointed. Quill with Tiff? Allsummer? I cannot watch.I will leave now. Can someone drop a line to Stone Soupwhen this is over? Thank you. Sniff.

Nancy, call that camp and ask WHY your daughter was not accepted!

Maybe someone at the camp is friends with Tiffany or her family?

PS: Brad’s room is empty. Maybe Quill could stay a few extra days after camp is finished?

How disappointing, for Luann, for Quill, for us. This cannot be right, or at least cannot be allowed to stand all summer as the status quo.

It’s only a comic strip with someone writing the plot…

Since Quill only planned on coming to the USA for Luann, it’s not likely that he’ll go to the drama camp unless they find a way to get Luann in there somehow. It’s a pity, but there’s no love triangle involving them and Tiff, Quill inexplicably isn’t interested in Tiffany at all… I suspect Quill will call off the drama camp and this story line will close down. Poor Tiffany, but I have to admire her determination to be with the man she’s in love with. Would Luann have put up such a fight if Quill hadn’t been interested at first? Pity Quill can’t see Tiff’s good qualities, but only her flaws….

Okay, see, a camp is a place where you learn a particular skill. Acting or sports or whatever. So this whole storyline where a kid gets rejected by a camp makes NO SENSE.

I desperately want to believe that people like Tiffany can’t grow up and stay as snotty, self-centered, vindictive and petty as our favorite anti-heroine. Then I see things like Amy Bouzaglo…

Quill is not in to vapid little Tiffany and spending more time with her will only drive the wedge deeper. Tiff is delusional in thinking that he is interested at all.

Camp must be run by the Eye of Zye guy… Lu rejected him… he rejects her and promotes Tiffany’s little delusion.

Did anyone check the postage of the letter etc, to make sure Tiff didn’t send it? .On those who think Quill would cheat with Tiff, he doesn’t like her.

Why would she be rejected? She was the lead in the high school play! What is the criteria?

I really wish she’d shift her focus. This isn’t the 1950s when it was common to marry right after high school. Aaron, quill, it doesn’t matter, this is tiresome.

Summer play: HONEYMOONERS GET STRANDED ON DESERT ISLAND. Starring Quill and local star Daytona St. Louis. (During opening night a young lady comes running out of the audience, jumps on the stage and starts pummeling Ms. St. Louis.)

Poor Kid. But MAYBE You got REJECTED by the Camp’s Acceptance Committee because They HEARD Your “I’m a SNOT” Song. And Since Mr. Oz produced it, that makes it HIS Fault!

But Seriously Luann, take the ADVICE of Others Here, and have Mr. Oz STAY in Brad’s old room at YOUR Folk’s House the whole time.

Love the “Play?” Oh, Yeah – that IS what drama camp is about. Guess I must’ve been thinking about something else…

Do we know if Quill got accepted? Maybe Tiff will be alone.

Well, Quill can always blow off Drama Camp and stay with some local Friends. Tiff can go to Drama Camp all by herself and Quill and Luann can have the time without here around.

The two-timing Quill thoroughly enjoys his time in Drama Camp with Tiffany without having to constantly think up ways to keep Luann believing that she’s the only one for him.

Hoo Boy! Tiffany is going to rub it in big time!

I feel bad for Lu. sure she has flaws, who doesn’t, but this is a big deal and it can be hard to take when you get disappointed. Although disappointment doesn’t kill…

Remember though you have people coming the whole world over to go to this camp. Think about it would quill’s parents really pay for him to go half way around the world just to go to a lame “everybody gets in” camp. I’m sure they have plenty of those in the OZ.

Oh. Well I called that one wrong.

Unbelievable! Incompetent, unproven Tiff gets in but experienced, talented Luann doesn’t. Either they went by date of application (after all, Tiff DID find the camp so she no doubt applied first, then Quill), or else something’s fishy.*BScan- you may be right, Tiff may have had her high-powered parents pull strings.

See? Luann is still having the understanding that Quill’s entering the camp was only if she would be there, which is the way it seemed to be conveyed to her…. the question now remains, is this what Quilly-boy intends to see through, or will he go on to the camp, perhaps to her dismay? Will she insist he go on to do it, though inside she wishes otherwise? Will he honor what he said to her, and also not go?--This seems that however the outcome, there will be a big test for their relationship some of the “questions” on it will deal with: the “trust factor”, the “open communication factor”, and perhaps several others……

It would be nice to see that Quill really is true with his treatment of Luann, but there are people out there hungry to get places…. he could recognize that Lu is smarter and prettier than Tiff, but ALSO that she’s more artistically inclined… since he endeavors to pursue his craft, this could also turn into the " a good salesman is very convincing" kind of angle…. again, time will tell…

Luann, there’s hope for you yet

So now the obvious plot plays out; Tiff will lord this over Luann for the rest of the summer. She’ll lie, exaggerate, and put Luann’s teeth on edge over every little comment or insinuation. Luann’s jealousy will be the wedge between her and Quill, cuz there’s nothing a guy likes more than having to continually assure his girlfriend that he loves her. And, he should establish if that’s how he REALLY feels about her. No more guessing games. And hopefully, this’ll be the summer Luann grows up.

I’d like it to be that Tiff did a letter switch, but I don’t see how that can be possible.

What’s with the heavy-handed story lines these days? Other stories had a reason but a bad road trip and now this?

We all know that Luann will continue on with life until Mr. Evans decides to retire. But sometimes it is hard to be reminded of life’s rejections, etc. Hopefully, something good will happen quickly.

She seems like the type to fail.

According to Tuesday’s comic, it’s a good camp, and lots of people apply. Which means lots of people get rejected.

There are a number of reasons why Tiff got in and Luann didn’t. Luann could have applied too late. Tiff has a better drama resume that Luann. The acceptances are drawn from a hat. It’s not that hard to think of them.

I doubt Tiffany had anything to do with it. Yesterday’s strip had Crystal asking about the possibility of Luann attending and Tiffany pooh-poohed the idea. If she had been devious and manipulative, she would have bragged to Crystal about it. Tiff never keeps her little machinations secret from Crystal. She would be gloat-city if she had connived to keep Luann out.

“I can’t see a high school junior with that kind of clout.”

She doesn’t need clout, just gall. She has plenty of that. She’ll cheat Luann out of the camp experience if she can, just because she wants to.

She is almost certainly jealous of Luann’s success, on stage and with the boys, and possibly a little frightened of her. Either way, she is vindictive enough to forge a letter, if she thinks of it, and not smart enough to cover her tracks probably.

I’m looking forward to the rest of this storyline. I’d like to see Tiff put straight too.

I think it’s Tiff’s ruse, and that it will be discovered in time for Luann to go to camp. Or those who think Quill will skip camp if Luann isn’t there might be right … or any of a number of other things.

We’ll have to wait and see ;-)

@Hawthorne—- Hi there! Well, Tiff is young, and I know her feelings for Quill may not be ‘True Love’, but that’s not unusual for teens. I’m just remembering Tiff crying when Quill left. She wept in front of Crystal, the one person she doesn’t have to pretend in front of. I think she does have feelings for Quill, but the depth of them is admittedly unproven. You are right, Tiff definitely has doing dirt to Luann on her agenda, no arguement. But that in itself doesn’t mean that she doesn’t love Quill too, does it? Time will tell if Mr. Evans sees his creation as a complex multi-layered character, or a two dimensional plot device. I am hoping I am not just imagining Tiff’s humanity:)

Poor, Luann, rejection of something you REALLY wanted to do is never fun. Just like looking for a job and getting turned down repeatedly.

This would have actually been funny if Tiffany had been rejected, & Luann accepted! This cartoonist is starting to tick me off!!!

If the decisions were based on auditions Luann would have been in, Tiffany would have been out. It must have been based on resumes. Tiffany has a movie, Miss Chamber, some modeling experience. Luann has been in the school play and probably didn’t even send a head shot, if she even has one.

Oh no REALLY??! The drama camp will be sorry when she hits it BIG!
