Good morning, Vagabonds. The DNA lecture was very informative. The speaker covered everything about DNA. On the way home, I found 5 back issues of the NYTimes magazine, very welcome indeed and when I reached my building, my friend had just arrived bearing a heavy bag of more NY Daily news. I will spend a delightful morning reading these – I wish the news could be just as delightful, but I will clip “Zits” for my roommate and “One Big Happy” for myself.
Hi Ho Vagabonds..Kind’a grey right now, but It’s supposed to improve as the day goes on..The old Possum George Jones passes away. My avitar that I found on Facebook is a tribute to old George. It reads “Guess we know, George made it.”.Have fun all..ttfn
Good morning all & hoping Slim will show up today and let us know how he is doing. Here’s a MOVIE QUIZ – a classic film (meaning an older movie):Based on a novel, this detective story had a famous director and a famous star & co-star. CLUE #1: The director and the star had the same initial (first name) and the director and the co-star also had the same initial (last name). CLUE #2: Some snappy dialogue between the star & co-star: CO-STAR: So you do get up, I was beginning to think you worked in bed like Marcel Proust.STAR: Who’s he?CO-STAR: You wouldn’t know him, a French writer.STAR: Come into my boudoir.
I guess Ol’ George performed a lot up here in Montana because they gave him quite a tribute on our local news the other night.
Have no idea, Florchi. The dialogue sounds like something from Cary Grant and Mae West.
Another gorgeous day yesterday, but we’re expecting some precip today. Sure hope so, our wildflowers depend on it.
Speaking of wildflowers, Jan, has the desert popped into bloom yet? That is the most amazing thing, this barren, desolate desert sports a wild blanket of color for a few days in the Spring.
MOVIE QUIZ, cont. Click my link below, and while you look at the movies listed there, consider that the dialogue I posted above takes place in a bedroom (boudoir). I think I’m making this easy….!Film Quiz Clue
George Jones was one of the few country singers that I actually liked. He made a real effort to keep old style country music alive.
Sorry, Florchi. Other that your obvious clue about one of the stars, I have no idea.
77 degrees by 9AM. It’s gonna be a scorcher today.
My office in Victorville is changing phone and internet providers today. So, I did my work in the early morning hours and have the whole day ahead of me now. My pessimistic prediction is that it won’t be up until Wednesday. I hope they surprise me.
