So sad that many don’t take Arlo’s advice.

I try to watch things that will go viral, but before they do so.

Similar to the reason I’m not on Facebook. The more I ‘have to be there’ the more I won’t be.

in defense of FB it does allow you to reconnect with folks you have lost contact with all over the country and find out what’s going on in their lives. good luck trying that old school with telephone numbers or addresses.

I’m with Arlo on this one, I watch what I want to watch, not what other people are watching. I tried FB and couldn’t believe all the FR’s I got from high school people I haven’t seen or talked to in over 30 years! I deleted my account.

Also in defense of FB, I have to say you don’t have to accept friend requests. You don’t have to watch cute kitten or puppy videos. It’s quite easy to unfriend or hide who and/or what you don’t want to see. It’s good for emailing because you don’t have to worry so much that someone won’t see your email because it’s in the midst of a bunch of newsletters. It’s good for chat. It’s good for finding out what games your daughter plays. (Why doesn’t she do something worthwhile, like read a book, or go for a walk?)

Facebook is a very useful tool. I get to talk to my first girl friend, (Happily married) about things we’ve experienced, and how times have changed…or stayed the same. Couldn’t do that with e-mail, it would be weird..Friends I’ve worked with long ago, and now only in touch because of FB….I keep in touch with my relatives and friends, and see their photos….Only my friends are my friends on face book….Why wouldn’t I want to have a convenient way to interact with them?…It’s a useful service….and free……
