A joke that I heard in Bosnia concerned a comic strip (that I never saw):
*Infantryman in the rain and water up to his ankles: “This sucks”*Special Forces guy in pouring rain and water up to his waist: “This sucks. But I kinda like it.”*Army Ranger in water up to his neck, snakes hanging from branches, etc.: “This sucks. I wish it would suck worse.”*Air Force guy: “Hey, the cable TV is out. This sucks.”
Sorry, AF guys, but we all know how the different branches trash talk each other.
BTW I rode in Air Force One. That was the call sign of our USAF liaison hummer.
Let’s not give ANY of the networks any ideas. If they do have something like this, make it “celebrity” obstacle racing and we can vote the “celebrity” we want to see “eliminated” the most.
I went thru AFR basic in 1968. Thye “obstacle” course was so easy it could not really be called an obstacle course. BUT, I did my 6 weeks basic starting Aug 1. We ran. All day every day and on Sunday we slept. Even when the black flags were out, my DI simply ran us where there were no flags. Like 2 or 3 times out to the rifle range. BTW, our intro to the M16 and firing for qualification was, all together, about 6 hours. Which really helped when I found myself in Vietnam after tech school
I remember “battle”. I also remember “Superstars”, the original celebrity obstacle course. I am SOOOO SICK of "(un)scripted “reality” TV. I want to Bet on My Baby that Honey Boo Boo will never take an Ice Road Truck to Alaska for a Dangerous Catch. Nor will a Kardashian get a Pawn Star to sell them a John and Kate plus 8 memento to be sold on Market Warriors. Oh S—-! I probably just gave someone an idea!
