SIGH Seriously folks, things have really slowed down quite a bit, haven’t they? I’ve got a nagging feeling that the Jumbler is gonna turn out to be a real bore. Too bad, I thought there was a lot of promise at first. Oh well, that’s life. S.I.T.O.A.N.M.I.

Like all nutty criminals, Jumbler believes he’s smarter than Tracy. He doesn’t “want” to get caught. He wants to keep looking smarter than the law. Being backed by Wendy WENCHel makes him happy as well.

    Good morning fellow DT fans…

The Jumbler wants to be able to tell his friends how he outsmarted the law. “I fought the law and the law…”

    Good Morning everyone . . .

It’s not a Jumble nor an April Fool jest . . . I suspect, the bearded and sexy * – Notta Chin Chillar* will be with us before month end. She was last seen in Jail (1968) – after her husband’s death. Some may recall that she was also Purdy Faller’s sister.

You’d think a big outfit like TMS would have better anti-hacking safeguards

Jumbler is apparently another cybercriminal as well as a puzzle-maker. Now, how will the MCU lure him out and capture him? Is Junior’s IT skill needed? Is Ms. Steffihawk implicated?

    @ Tarry Plaguer@ Stagger Lee

Thanks for the Jumble puzzle – and Look at that villain! “Sparky”, a battery thief with hair that looks like electrical charges – that is a villain that could have come right out of Chester Gould’s imagination.

Forget Jumbler. (I agree with Avenger09, he is a bore) How about a story line with Jumble’s “Sparky”?

Seriously, with Jumble appearing in Dick Tracy and Tracy appearing in Jumble, a recent story with Gasoline Alley characters, not to mention, the Broadway Bates Batman spoof, I think we’ve had enough of the crossover stuff.

Next week: A crossword puzzle character?

Hope I can hang on until Moon Maid returns.

I think that if Chester Gould HAD invented a villain such as the one in today’s Jumble, he would have named him “Sparks” – rather than “Sparky” – that just feels more like a Tracy name.

Hmm. The “send in for final approval” bit is the wild card. What if the Jumbler is the one actually giving the final approval? Makes more sense than hacking into a system and changing things.

I wonder how long “Jumble” has been around. I recall seeing it in the daily newspaper at LEAST since my teenage years…..which was a very long time ago. I always thought it was awful. Just couldn’t figure out why people would waste so much time to get to a pretty poor punchline. Obviously, I must have done some to know about those punchlines, so I must have, even then, had some kind of self-hate thing going on.But now, I suddenly like it! So, I respectfully ask that the person who posted the answer here not do that in the future. I already had it figured out by the time I read the comment, but there may be others here who would like to give the puzzle a try. Thank you for your consideration.

Besides the Jumble puzzle, the Chicago Tribune also carries a Jumble Crossword puzzle. Yesterday’s answer was “Dick Tracy”.

Despite the fact that Sam is a fictional character, there seems to be a lot of resentment over his smoking. No, it isn’t realistic that he is still healthy after all these years of puffing away, but how much more realistic are moon people? There was a time when we didn’t know that smoking was bad. There was a time when we couldn’t discount moon inhabitants. Things change.

Maybe a good side story would involve Sam having a heart attack or getting emphysema, forcing him to kick the habit after all these years. Problem solved. Everybody happy.

I’d better not say what I’m thinking, lest I be tarred with the same brush as that of MPH, SDM, & avenger09 et al. Suffice it to say that I’m eagerly awaiting the next arc – even if it’s Marty and his pussycat.

Last week, someone (Avenger09?) speculated that the choppy story may have been due to lawyers intervening in this crossover story. Now, it is clear that TMS is encouraging it, what with DT in Jumble, as well as Jumbler in DT.But I’m still not sure how Team Tracy can save this story. We know who Jumbler is. We know what he’s done. He’s a petty thief, not worthy of DT’s attention, but he has it anyway. And yet, DT has yet to pick him up.Maybe he’s saving that for Go Go Gomez or Joe Jitsu.
