Good morning, Vagabonds. @Florchi, sorry, I couldn’t understand the websight. I sent a photo of the flower bush to the vagabonds whose emails I have; so far Jan has answered me. The photo is also in my facebook – I don’t clutter up my facebook with too much stuff, although friends like to add pictures to my account. That explains the young man in Yucatan showing off the New York t-shirt I gave him; my cousin’s photo of me and the police horse and wheeling her baby; the tall Krim Tatar posing with me when I visited him in Amsterdam.
I’ve been in New York 2 days and still haven’t left my home, although today I will go to an Azeri-Turkish demonstration in Times Square and try some lahmacan (Turkish pizza) and challenge some Turks to a game of Turkish Scrabble.
I’ve read most of the newspapers my friend brought me, although he promised to bring me more today. I just have the letters to the editor and some columns to read. I superficially cleaned my bathroom where my cat goes but I want to redo it. It takes the actual cat owner to really clean up after his cat.

Good morning Vagabonds..I virused a couple days ago, what they call ransom ware, it claims to be the FBI, and they are locking up your computer and fining you, and you pay the fine by buying a money card and putting the in the box thus tranfering the money to them.Bottom line it is a scam, the FBI dosen’t work that way.It’s usually costs me $90 at a computer place to get my ’puter running. This time I used the emergency recovery fuction on my machine, takes it back to the day it came out of the factory. Everything in it was lost, nothing importent was lost, but I saved $90..Sunny but cool, temps in the 40s..Back home in NYC, bet your happy Arye..Good day Slim & Jan, hope your air condishioning is working..Well going to go shopping soon,.ttfn
Dkram, you didn’t have to take it back to the day you brought the computer home. You could have taken it back to a day last week before you got the virus. And be sure from now on, to back up your stuff. A flash drive is a lot less expensive than 90 dollars.
@DAVID.It was only a few issues of the NYTimes. It was the Daily News from Last Dec. to Feb. My trick is to read the headlines and only to read the articles if the headlines interest me.

It was 70 yesterday! Woo Hoo! The house smells so nice with all the windows open! And, it only got down to 46 during the night. I’d say that Spring is here.
Nice day today, as was yesterday. Sunny with temps in 70s except along the coast where the east wind makes it cooler. That’s where I live, about 6-7 miles inland. Nights are in the 40s with 30s in some places. Next week in the high 60s. Flowers are blooming, trees are budding and the golfers are golfing behind me. Almost time to start collecting balls again.

I think I was the only person there without Turkish or Azeri or Tatar roots. Everyone was asking me when I immigrated to the US from Turkey or Azerbaijan.
But I couldn’t get anyone to agree to a game of Scrabble in Turkish. The letter tiles have a different distribution and point values. There are also extra letters with diacritical marks, above or below them: C, G, I (with a dot above has a different pronunciation than without, which is why I always write “istanbul” with a lower casel “I”), O, S and U.
@Rita, I’m not sure exactly what ingredients are put into lahmacan (pronounced “lah-majan”) but I like it because it has tomatoes in it prepared in such a way that I don’t mind its consistency. I usually don’t like tomatoes because of its squishy consistency, but I realize that tomatoes are good for you, which is why I like lahmacan. Yesterday’s lahmacan didn’t have tomatoes but spicy meat – really delicious. They also distributed a kind of seeded bread baked to form a large circle called “simit” (the “i” is pronounced like “i” in “machine.”
To those who I sent the photos to: You’ll notice I’m pointing to a blue flag with a white crescent (the Turkish flag is red with a white crescent. That is the Uyghur flag [my avatar] which is illegal to use in China). The other flag in the photos – green, blue and red – is the flag of Azerbaijan as on the t-shirt I was wearing.
Today I plan to attend a lecture on DNA at the Jewish genealogical Society.
Need to retract my talk of doing so well. Went to the store this afternoon, with help, to get stuff I needed. I was doing more sitting on my walker, out of breath. When I got home, I put the eggs and juice in the fridge, and set down to catch my breath. Tomorrow I will leave a message for the cardiologist.I waited to I was rested and then took my BP. My systolic was 120, good. My diastolic was at least 25 points above my normal @ 104. My heart is fibrilating like mad.I nwill call him again Monday, if I don’t hear from him fairly early. I am now officially worried.
