Here locally, the hostess on Romper Room was Miss Julie. (Every affiliate had its own hostess.)Somebody on the radio the other day mentioned Miss Julie, wondering what ever happened to her.

Over on Ripley’s today, they make a big deal out of a couple of monkeys waiting on tables in Japan.

Haven’t they ever been to the Tiki, for heaven’s sake??

A Monkey for a proprietor, and on the night staff alone, the cutest little monkeys ever behind the bar on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And an ape janitor… and..oh right, Fenton, a gorilla bartender on call….… and yes of course…a tall, handsome boxer 5 nights a week. The day staff is just as diverse.Somebody call Believe It or Not…

G’mornin’ to all you BSers! I slept so well, hardly wanted to get out of bed (such pleasant dreams).Weight continues fine with this new diet @122, but BP rather high (as usual at this hour – 181/79). I’ll make my egg white omelet in a few. Glad Bri is feeling better. When I noticed the toons changing over I decided to get to bed. I think that was earlier than usual – RIGHT?

Ohmygosh……that’s my Aunt Julie!!! She would tell the longggggggest stories that never seemed to end, and every few minutes, she’d say: “….and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……”( then, trail off and wait one or two seconds so that she could compose the next chapter in her head )…………and continue on. (And, that long “oh” would start on a high note and end on a lower one.)

    I miss her.

As long as you just stick with the little bananas that the pygmy monkeys love, you’ll have plenty of room for them and maybe one of Susan’s Yak Platters in that Monkey Tote Bag!

    (…probably a few beers, too!)

Apropos of absolutely nothing … I was just thinking about amateur Irishman’s Day on Sunday. A real professional Irishman ( and professional drinker ) stays home and leaves the inanities to the Wannabees. I do however, in honor of my Irish roots ( albeit, me Mum, and her family came from the wee black North of Ireland ), celebrate the feast of St. Padraic with some genuine Irish fare. Not corned beef and cabbage, which is really, a New England Boiled Dinner ! I will be happy to share my Grandmother’s recipes for genuine Irish soda bread, potato bread and treacle bread. Also, my Mother’s recipes for Slumgullion Stew, Hunter’s Stew, and Irish Lamb Stew.I will also throw in my drink recipes for Gaelic Coffee, The Wham’s Dram, and a Leprechaun !Any interest in any or all, and I’ll put them up ere over the next few days.Sláinte agus Aoibhneas lá atá inniu ann, agus don chuid eile de do shaol!

Oh yeah, couple of quick things…..

Larry, no matter what anyone tells you, I have never… been…um…. inside the Linguist’s private tab.

    Have I, Ling?

And while we’re speaking…dunno whether you like the idea but we do still have a recipe page RIGHT HERE.I have it bookmarked, and I remember reading one of your recipes there. If you want to post them there, (or if anybody here has recipes to post there) and can’t do the code, you could just mention in the forum (or elsewhere) what you added…and I’ll be happy to keep posting the link.

It could say, for instance, Linguist’s Red Beans and Rice

Of course, as you can see, it’s always the same link and you have to scroll to the latest addition …. but you do here anyway.I like having them all on that page cos you don’t have to remember what day someone posted a recipe.

“Babbling brook of chitchat”? I will have to remember that when my very lovely co-worker (she is very kind and sweet, but WHAT A GOSSIP) goes off on one of her rants of gossip! I now have a new perspective on how to handle those situations! Thanks, Jerry!

Stel….The little guys at the Tiki actually also enjoy the big bananas…

The only problem is, they take a whole one and waste most of it….

So I let them help with peeling bananas for the daiquiri grinder….

They eat enough that they don’t carry one home.

I think I may open the bedroom window and shut off the furnace tonight, as our predicted low is 59; I’d prefer the high 60s but I’ll take this for now. My silk filled silk quilt is very warm so even alone I’ll be OK. I was Skyping with my youngest boy today. His 2 electus are molting; he likes to show them off in their bath. He still can’t believe that none of his siblings ever call me that way (so much better than any cell – and free!). My daughter has a router and laptop she’s no longer using and said she would send (and I could Skype in other parts of the house and yard) but she is lazy about errands so I hope he will send to me (they live a few hours drive apart, but he is better at errands).
