Wonder if he found some other rarities (i.e. 1943 copper penny, 1944 steel penny, 1955 double stamped penny, and 1983 copper penny).

I have enjoyed this week’s strips of Rev. Glover interacting with his step-grandson.

@The Wolf In Your Midst, don’t go to Canada, they just did. Trying to decide whether to hold on to my Canadian pennies in case they get to be worth more than 40c

How far back do we have to go that you could get a bag of anything for a nickel?

The particular coin they are discussing is worth a great deal of money – anywhere from $400 to $20,000 depending on condition.

Most of my coin & bill collection came from being a cashier.

Hah! This brings back a childhood memory. When I was seven or eight, I got into my dad’s collection of silver certificates and took two of them to buy school lunches with. As far as i could tell, they looked like regular dollar bills. By the time my dad discovered my theft the next week, they were long gone. He figured I spent it at the local 7-11, and marched me down there to ask them to check their vault. Nope..Sadly, he’s no longer with us. I could probably afford to replace them now.
