They must be passing through that area of the Gasoline Alley Garage where the cars that Slim’s already worked on are kept.

So you think. You might be in for a surprise from your wife when she stops the silent treatment.

When pots and pans clash and bang that’s the silent treatment.

Wonderful sentiment! And, wonderful comic featuring Joel and Rufus again! I feel fortunate!

GA has at least fifty characters. Some of them haven’t been heard from in years. Let’s move on to someone else. Please!

How about the children and grandchildren of some of the characters who have been written out of the strip because they would be so old they must have died by now? It would be nice to hear from them. They could look up Uncle Walt because they always heard family stories about him but never met him.

Or finally kill off Walt and center the story around someone else (but not Slim please!).

I was sincerely hoping that Monday would finally bring an end to this tired, pathetic story arc. Dear Jim: if you are going to continue stories with these buffoons, would you please remove Walt from the title block? I keep remembering how good this strip used to be.

No, Susan…. I was being serious… I find Joel and Rufus to be my very favorite aspects of GA. I also was not absent…. I merely was stating that I liked that they were still being featured. I had feared with their last story arc seeming to have reached its conclusion, that they would disappear for a while. My joy at their continuing to be featured is real.

I really love these two as well. Glad to see another person on here who appreciates the strip as it is. I don’t mind old Walt either but Joel and Rufus are two very special dufuses for me and I always feel happy when they are featured.
