    Ever notice that the silent treatment is always for something the person doing the silent treatment did or assumed? Childish, but the silent treatment is childish.

    They must be passing through that area of the Gasoline Alley Garage where the cars that Slim’s already worked on are kept.

    So you think. You might be in for a surprise from your wife when she stops the silent treatment.

    When pots and pans clash and bang that’s the silent treatment.

    Wonderful sentiment! And, wonderful comic featuring Joel and Rufus again! I feel fortunate!

    I like Joel’s attitude on “silent”.
    Definitely Slim’s failed fixes here.

    GA has at least fifty characters. Some of them haven’t been heard from in years. Let’s move on to someone else. Please!

    How about the children and grandchildren of some of the characters who have been written out of the strip because they would be so old they must have died by now? It would be nice to hear from them. They could look up Uncle Walt because they always heard family stories about him but never met him.

    Or finally kill off Walt and center the story around someone else (but not Slim please!).

    @SUSAN NEWMAN

    Sarcasm is difficult to tell in print. Thank you for noticing it and mentioning it. Many people still haven’t gotten the memo.

    I’d like to see some of the other characters myself.

    Some wives think that their husbands missing their lovely nagging voices is punishment.

    Actually, it probably saves marriages or the wife a provoked smack in the chops when the husband can not longer tolerate her lovely voice and can’t go to a men’s centre as they are not any for husbands that wives go to women’s centres because they can no longer tolerate their husband’s lovely nagging voice

    Oh my God, Joel and Rufus are each part of a set of triplets! (Heh-heh)

    I was sincerely hoping that Monday would finally bring an end to this tired, pathetic story arc. Dear Jim: if you are going to continue stories with these buffoons, would you please remove Walt from the title block? I keep remembering how good this strip used to be.
