    Hmm, Charlie seems to be twice as high as the mound, which should be 10 inches above the rest of the playing field. This makes him about 1’ 8" tall.

    Of course, the poetic license of cartooning allows for mishapen anatomy such as unusually large heads and the ability for characters to tie their shoes without bending over.

    I remember the strip where CB was lowering the pitcher’s mound. Lucy asked him why and he said MLB had decided to lower them because pitchers were dominating the game too much. Which made Lucy fall over laughing, of course.
