@Macushlalondra from yesterday: I am amazed to find someone who bathes a cat monthly. For me it was once in a lifetime, when she got grease on her from going under a car. I looked like I had been through a meat grinder. I do admire you.
I LOVE the fact that the whole family loves animals and nature. They provide homes and food for all the critters around them. I do too but I wish I could get close to all of mine the way they do. My little stinkers run every time they see me coming but if I’m filling up their feeders, they sit in the trees and chirp at me to hurry up then the minute I’m back inside, they all swarm to them. I would love for them to stick around the way those do here.
There’s three kinds of red birds you might encounter in colder climates. One is the Cardinal Finch which dosen’t use nesting boxes. A second is the Scarlet Tanager, which I doubt you’ll see very much outside of forests (won’t use feeders or nesting boxes). The third type is the Hallmark Christmass ornament. This is the type that lives in the Gumbo’s back yard.
Sharon Hayes: It has already started around here. This morning, I saw a cardinal cock and hen together and no others in sight. Haven’t heard the territorial call yet, but expect to soon.l

If Jimbo hadn’t fixed his house, the birdie would have raised the roof!

Sweet folks! And Pasquale will grow up to be as noble as Jimbo.
