How many of you are PINK FLOYD fans, or just like their music. As for me, I am definately a fan. I have 3 VHS concert videos, three or four cassette tapes, “The Wall” video on DVD and six albums on DVD, one of which is “The Wall”. I also saw them at Pepperland (long gone), in San Rafael, which is in Marin County, a half-hour or so north ofSan Francisco. At the time i was living 40 miles +/- east of Sacramento..>>>>>>>>I bring this up because of an article I found on the Yahoo home page Sun. afternoon about one of Pink Floyd’s most iconic albumes, whish came out forty years ago, I had embedded in the article were four videos, each with one of the songs played at a concert. At the end of the article, it was said that many people saw a connection with the original “Wizart Of Oz”. The last thing was another video.1:41:40 long. It was the original “Wizard Of Oz” (1939) which I hadn’t seen in about 70 years or so. No dialog, just played the album three times while the movie played.>>>>>>>>As I said, I was living east of Sacramento about a half mile or so from one of my brothers, in a little “blink or sheeze and you miss it town” named Shingle Springs. My lady friend and I went as guests of “The Boz Scagg’s Band”. Actually we were invited by a couple of the roadies of the band. When the rent-a-cop opened the door, it was one step in and the air reeked of pot smoke. It was, I’m pretty sure, January of 1971. Weather cold and raining all the way down, and back up to Shingle Springs.I was feeling pretty “comfortable” when I went in, and the ambiance in there only enhanced my “comfortableness”.>>>>>>>>I remember almost nothing of the ride down, or back, but then I wast driving. I don’t know what pieces they did, bui I definately remember hearing. No fancy light-shows like they were into a few years later. Only footsteps and doors opening and closing up in the ceiling. One of the two live concerts I’ve gone to. Don’t like crowds very much.>>>,Finished this about the time I usually say, “Good morning”.

Good morning, Villagers. Yesterday, 2 friends of mine were driving me to Kendal (south Miami) for a lecture on DNA-Genetics. Suddenly the car died. Two men offered to push the car to a safe place. As one of my friends was calling for assistance, a car with friends also going to the lecture came by. They were lost and they took us in and we finally found our way to the Florida International campus. The lecture was presented by the head of FamilyTreeDNA. of Houston, Texas. I have had my DNA done by this company and found many interesting things, such as my Y-chromosome goes back to Central Asia although my basic ethnicity is Middle eastern, not European.

Between the new daylight hours and the fact that I needed to be picked up to go to the lecture at 8:30 AM, I came home very tired.

@FLORCHI, if I go to the Turkish Festival on Sunday, can you make it there? Also, what bus should I take. I know the number 1 bus goes from Aventura – will it take me there?

hi Slim. I have all of Pink Floyd’s albums and though I’ve heard about the Wizard of Oz relationship, I have never watched and listened. I’ll watch Florchi’s youtube video.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Looks like it is going to be another nice day around here. The sun is up, the birds are singing and the temperature is warm enough for shirt-sleeves, even at 8AM.

Housekeepers are here, and it’s a bit of noisy chaos around me at the moment. Oh, well, they will be gone in another hour.

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

To answer you, Slim……never heard any of Pink Floyd’s work. Never got into rock, or the Beatles. Now, Classical, and movie film scores, yes.

I just love how different we all are!

Jan………this is the one time of year that I really envy you and your “shirtsleeve” weather! :)) It’s 39 right now, and snowing! I’m sure it will be over in a short time, and melt by day’s end. But…………………not exactly shirt sleeve weather.

Good afternoon to everyone. Beautiful day here in the Boston area. Sun is shining and temp. is in the fiftys. Snow is melting rapidly. Tomorrow is another story as it is going to be a rainy day. Oh well, at least it will be about the same temp. as today.
