They sent me a housekeeper, two hours. My former housekeeper is no longer with the service supplyers. I will not miss her. The lady who came did a good job. This place is cleaner than it has been in long while. I called the office and left a voice message asking for her to be my regular helper. I was her Idea. Hope it happens. I plan to call them again today (Fri.)

Good morning, Villagers/ @Slim, 2 hours of help by a good housekeeper can mean all the difference in the world.

For my birthday I went with a group to the North Miami Senior Center for a lecture on the different kinds of blindness and eyecare, followed by an excersize (sp?) program.

I returned the laptop to my desk. It’s no longer bedside, but it’s more comfortable to use.

Morning, Village.Yesterday afternoon I got a call from the District Superintendent and he told me to arrange a meeting with Staff-Parish today at 10:30 AM. When I called the chairman, she expressed her appreciation for having plenty of notice (tongue in cheek). Anyway, the purpose of the meeting is to introduce my replacement to the committee. The District Superintendent wouldn’t even tell me who he/she is.

Oh, darn. I let that one slip by me, Arye. I’m sorry. Is it too late to wish you a belated Happy Birthday? Hope you had a good one.

@DAVID. Thank you for your wishes. Don’t worry, there was no spectacular party, not even a cake – a cake wouldn’t do my diet any good anyway.

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

Sorry, Arye, I let that one slip by me, too! Happy Birthday! I understand about the “cake” thing…….if there’s no temptation, then it won’t harm the good eating habits.

Good luck, david on meeting your replacement. Remember, there is NEVER going to be someone as good as YOU have been.

Congrats on getting a great housekeeper, Slim! Two hours is great! All kinds of things can be cleaned in that time. Good for you! Have you heard anything about that “housing” issue with these budget cuts?

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

David, one good thing about the Methodist church is that the congregations are used to having the pastor changed every few years. It won’t be as hard on them to have you retire as it would be for a congregation that’s had the same leader for 40 or 50 years. That being said, good luck in your meeting.

Slim, congrats on the new housekeeper. I hope you get to make her a “regular”. I do love having the girls come in and clean for a couple of hours every two weeks. It relieves a lot of the burden from me.

Good Morning from the Winter Wonderland.I was off in my estimate of how much snow I had. The official amount for my area was 24.3 inches. We were only supposed to have 1 to 2 inches. I think we are trying to break the record. So far we have had over 100 inches. I was out for about 4 hrs. snowblowing and my wife for about 2 hrs. Boy were we tired. We both are getting to old for this. Today it is beautiful out. Sunshine with temps. in mid 40’s. Tomorrow more of the same and on Tues. they are saying in the low 50’s. Have to go to my daughter’s house for an early birthday party for me and my oldest granddaughter whos birthday is 3 days after mine. We have to do it today as I am busy next week helping my son-in-law taping a men’s conference. Mine is the 18th, I’ll be 84, and hers is the 21st, she’ll be 27. Where does the time go? Happy birthday to you Ayre. Good by for now.

@FLORCHI: You’re Turkish is fantastic! Is it your own linguistic ability or does Google take the credit? Thanks for the birthday wishes to you and to all!
