Okay. I said I’d talk about wisdom, and my adviser is Robert A. Heinlein.>>>>>>First of all, just because someone’s been around for a long time does not mean they’ve got wisdom. I’ve known some old folks who I will kindly call “unaware”.
Experience, they say, brings wisdom. This is true. Experience does bring wisdom. Experience is a wonderful teacher, but unfortunately everyone isn’t a good pupii. Some see the effect, but don’t recognise the cause. They burn their hand on a hot pot over and over and all they know is that they just burnt therir hand again.
For the young it isn’t always dumb so much as it is a lack of knowledge that they have yet to learn. Wisdom comes from surviving the experience and learning from it. Cause and effect, Learn why it happened..
Good morning, Vagabonds. Now that I’m making progress on my copying my VHS tapes and have more room, I’ve made big changes in my room. Since my entire apartment is wi-fi. I’ve put my laptop bedside. I don’t know if this is a good idea (sometimes people Skyped me while I’m napping and I didn’t here them) – I will try this out.
Slim, Heinlein is also one of my favorite Sci-Fi authors. Between him and Asimov (and sometimes Clark) I have had many happy hours with my nose buried in a book. My favorite Heinlein book is “Time Enough for Love”, especially the “bits of wisdom” from Lazarus Long. (Asimov: The Foundation Series, of course and Clark: A short story called “The Star”)
Arye, Happy 2 days before birthday!
Yesterday I got out of the house for the first time in a week, and was none the worse for wear for it. Still a bit congested with an occasional dry cough, but mostly over this thing.
Google “Shirttail Creek” and there is a row of five pictures’ The second from the left is the North Fork of the American River wih Shirttail Creek going into it at the right-center. I have a picture that is almost exactly the same. Both are taken from the suspention bridge over the North Fork. The color in my pic is much truer than Googles.
Hi Vagabonds..I’m still here, it has been a nice day, in the 40s..Not much to talk about, town meeting is in the history books, and I’m watching “The Haunted Collector” on sci-fi. Not a lot to comment on..ttfn

One hundred and eighty five
Holding back five thousand
Five days, six days, eight days, ten
Travis held and held again
Then he sent for replacements
For his wounded and lame
But the troops that were coming
Never came, never came, never came
Twice he charged and blew recall
On the fatal third time
Santa Anna breached the wall
And he killed ’em, one and all
Now the bugles are silent
And there’s rust on each sword
And the small band of soldiers
Lie asleep in the arms of the Lord
