I’m obese. I can admit that. But I have never worried about getting into the pool. Even if I’m not wearing a swimsuit, you can see that I’m a big girl. Why not go and have fun anyway?
Oh, for crying out loud, it’s not a competition! I would guess that maybe women are more insecure about their bodies because there are more pictures of female models out there to compare themselves to, but I’m sure guys care how they look as well.

lightenup I knew you could make it through the week – although it seems the time went by way too quickly. You are correct in that there are a lot more pictures of female models out there – but in reality, wherever you go (unless it is to the Playboy mansion), you rarely see anyone who meets the ‘standard’ for those models. I wish people, male and female, could see through the glitzy advertising and realize that no matter how much they spend they will never look like those models so they should be happy with how they look and who they are. Now, wanting to lose weight for health issues is another story.

Personally, I’d say we males have more to think about than just abs. But, of course, following that train of thought wouldn’t result in our daily [eye-roll] here. And today’s may have registered on the Richter Scale!
