This is far closer to the truth than most people realize. All the ‘extras’ and dressing on a salad adds a whole lot more calories than most people want to think about – but it is a salad so must be healthy.

Happy Sunday (and a beautiful day here in north-east Ontario). Sure better than the rather chilly day we had yesterday. Just too bad I cannot enjoy the sunshine – 1)born a red head with fair skin, 2)on drugs that sensitize the skin to UV rays, 3)on a chemo treatment that sensitizes the sun to the UV rays – that is 3 strikes against me being in the sun. In fact say the word ‘sun’ too loudly and my skin turns red! Ah well, just looking outside to the sunny day raises my spirits anyway. For when I do go out I still have lots of high SPF lotion and spray to put on so it is not all bad.

That’s right, Cathy. Life’s too short. Eat dessert instead. You’ll continue to pack on those hard-to-lose pounds but at least they’ll taste oh-so-delicious while you do! ;-)

    Hi, rgcviper! :-)

    .

Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a really great weekend! :-)

    .

    This week’s progress report:

Nada, unfortunately. Our house has been on the market for 10-1/2 days now and we’ve only had a total of 4 showings with no follow-up showings or an offer of any kind - not even an insulting low-ball one. It’s now 2:30 p.m. and we haven’t heard anything at all from our agent, which means there most likely won’t be a showing yet again today either (which will make our fourth one in a row). So much for the “hot” market around here that we’ve been hearing so much about ….. not to mention her “promise” that she could have our house sold in a week. Unfortunately for us, her “get up and go” attitude appears to have “got up and went” ever since we signed a contract with her and her company a little over a week ago. Not sure what (if anything) she’s doing for us other than sitting back and just waiting for someone to call and request a showing. I’m trying very hard not to be discouraged but it’s difficult. We’re ready to go-go-go and get this part of the move over with but we’re at a complete stand-still and can’t move forward with the next chapter of our lives until someone comes along and falls in love with this house as much as we did. Waiting like this is driving me crazy ….. and believe me, it’s a very short drive to “Crazy Town” these days! ;)

    .

Well, gotta go for now. I’ll check back in again when I can ….. hopefully with better news next time. Until then, have a great week everyone! :-)

I say to have what you like, just make sure that it is good quality. So, if you like ice cream, get the best ice cream that you can afford and enjoy it! Don’t get ice cream with chemicals and other things in it that you can’t pronounce. Just ingredients that you can get/grow on a farm.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday! Sounds like a lovely day, hendelca! I hope you can at least open the window and breathe in some fresh air or sit on a covered porch. How’s your treatment going? I hope it’s going well, and I hope you are feeling good. :-) Sis, I’m sorry about the frustration! Selling a house is so hard! I hope your realtor at least got feedback from your 4 showings so you know what people may like or not like. Granted, sometimes it’s just like dating, where people just need to “feel a connection” with your house. I hope she’s also advertising it on Facebook and doing an open house. And people love photos, so I hope there’s a good virtual tour on your listing. Good luck to you!!

I know how beautiful it is up where you are hendelca…enjoy as much of that sun as you can tolerate. We hope to get up to the cottage sometime this summer. Sorry things are going so slowly, Mom…but when it picks up it usually REALLY picks up. We had no offers all summer and then 3 offers in one day and they were fighting over it…one of them was calling the realtor and asking her why she was letting us hang laundry out on our line rather than pressing us to accept their offer (which is the one we finally accepted). As for Cathy, have the salad, have a small portion of ice cream and go home happy.
