Well, that’s the truth, unfortunately. I used to be able to get rid of a few pounds in a week or so, but now I’ve got to work at it. It almost doesn’t make the excess food worth it, but darn it some of that food is just too delicious and life is short. :-)Having said that, those younger co-workers are a bit rude for saying that. I think their brains are shrinking.
Hello, Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! I think we’re finally all illness-free. Yay!
lightenup Having to work at losing those extra holiday pounds is right. Although I have finally convinced my body (and more importantly my wife) that filling my plate only half full at supper does not mean that I will starve to death. With this approach I lost the extra Christmas weight plus a couple of pounds extra already. Getting ready to add on a lb or two at a conference this weekend.
Congrats on being illness-free! Hope to be there soon. I think my wife and I traded cold viruses several times over the past month but both are feeling much better now so the end may be in sight.
I can really sympathize with Cathy today because it doesn’t come off as easily for me anymore as it used to either. But, like me, she can take comfort in the fact that one day, those young, skinny little smart-mouthed co-workers will one day be in the exact same boat right along with us because short of liposuction and plastic surgery (which most normal people can’t afford), there’s just no getting around the hateful things that Mother Nature does to a woman’s body as she begins to age! :-(
Hi, rgcviper! :-)
Hello and Happy Tuesday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today! :-)
I can sympathize with Cathy also. I love food but my body is mean to me after I eat certain foods, like spaghetti. It’s not fair, I’ll only be 39 on Friday!
Lol, I’ve never in my life been able to diet and lose weight and then keep the weight off… not when I was younger, not now in my late 30s… but I agree that fascinatingly enough, now I’ve somehow managed to go up one size more! Go me! Just when I thought “now I’ve really done it,” it’s gotten even worse, haha! Weirdly enough my mom has always been skinnier than I am and still is.

Oh, yeah? Well, I used to be able to read this comic without saying AACK. Wait—no, I didn’t!
(And, as always, that’s exactly how I like it here.)
HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.
