But… it is still deductible! Finally something she can really deduct.

Once again I have to ask . . . WHY hasn’t this guy “fired” Cathyas a client yet? She doesn’t listen to a single thing he advises and she just, in general, makes his life miserable every time he sees her so why not? One less crazy person to deal with at tax time really shouldn’t affect his business all that much one way or another so if that were me, I’d suggest she find someone else to do hers from now on because “there’s nothing more I can do to help someone who’s not willing to help themselves.” It’s just as simple as that.

I’m about to retire after 43 years of preparing tax returns for a living. My bosses would never fire a client unless they didn’t pay, and even then they strung them along for multiple years many times before they did. Their thinking (I guess) is that the fired client might bad-mouth the firm and they might miss getting another client. Glad I’m retiring!

Just back away slowly, C.P.A., with your hands raised in self-defense. Nut-job alert, Aisle One …

But, hey—wonder if eye-rolls are deductible? Imagine the fortune we could make here in “Cathy’s Corner”!

    HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.
