I don’t think veggies have ever been bad – the advice on that only changes insofar as how many portions a day it should be.

But not potatoes. Save them to make potato salad if you must but otherwise better turned into compost than into waist.

I don’t know if Cathy’s mom is giving her the best advice either if she’s telling Cathy not to remember some of it. Just saying…Hello Cathy clan! KFG – did your medical connections really confirm that our friends passed away in Hurricane Sandy or did they just know of them in general? I can’t find anything that talks about a firefighter or a doctor from NIH were killed in that storm, and that seems like something the media would pick up on.

How about: “Clean your plate! Don’t you know there are children starving to death in [Africa, Ethiopia, etc.] that have absolutely no food to eat at all?!” [Yes, I heard this as a kid and never could understand how me either cleaning my plate — or not — would either help — or hurt — those poor, starving little kids in a foreign country!]

    Hi, rgcviper!

GrimmaTheNome: Nice pun at the end of your post!!! ;-)

lightenup: Thanks for the “Sandy” website. I’ll take a look at it a little more closely later on when I have the time. I’m trying very hard to keep the faith that Aaron and Dr. Billy are still with us — somewhere — but sometimes it’s really difficult for me based on the fact that we haven’t heard from them in so long now [not to mention what Dr. K.F.G. told us on Monday]. I’ll continue to try though. I’ve always been hopeful that I’d come here one day and find them miraculously back with us again — full of once-in-a-lifetime, around-the-world trip stories to tell us regarding wonderful, exotic places they’ve been and wonderful, exotic people they’ve met and that’s why they’ve been gone for so long. Sadly, though, that hasn’t been the case . . . so far. But you just never know. Right?

B/t/w: If both Aaron and Dr. Billy are still with us, they both turned 39 this year — Aaron on March 9th and Billy on July 15th. LMB will be 4 on December 24th. [I’ve still got them on my calendar and will continue wishing them a very happy birthday/anniversary — wherever they are — every time their special days arrive.]

Hello and Happy Wednesday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today. :-)

OK—my head exploded after the first panel, but then I progressed back to my usual [eye-roll].

@Dr. K.F.G.I hadn’t read your post from later on Monday, and I’m shocked to hear this news. I hope so much that it’s not accurate and that we’ll see Aaron and Billy here again someday. Always keeping the faith …

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
