Mom: I'd call Cathy about her travel plans, but I don't want to butt in. Yes I do. I want to butt in. I just don't want to be so obvious. Yes I do. I've earned the right to be obvious. I just don't want to be one of "those mothers." Why not?? Those are wonderful mothers! I'm proud to be one of "those mothers." Dad: No longer any need to actually call? Mom: No longer any idea what I was calling about.

You’ll always be one of “those mothers”, Cathy’s mom! We had one of those phones on the kitchen wall too. That was the central one with the extra long cord that you could go around the corner with in order to get some privacy. Haha! The “good ol’ days”!Hello Cathy friends! Thank you for your kind greetings from a couple of days ago! I still haven’t gotten into a regular routine yet, so hopefully I’ll be here more often soon. We’ve only been here a week, so there’s still a lot to get before things run smoothly. We’re going to Ikea today, so wish me luck! I know they have all sorts of good things, but it always seems so chaotic to me there.Hugs to all my friends here!

Soooooooooooo glad I don’t have a mom like Cathy’s! While I try to keep my mom up-to-date on the major things going on with me and my family, I don’t feel the need to give her all the little details of my day-to-day, humdrum life . . . nor does she call all the time and nag me for them. With a mother like this who refuses to let her “child” be the adult she is and have her own life, it’s a wonder Cathy isn’t the kind of person who refused to “grow up” and is, therefore, still living at home with her mommy and daddy taking care of her instead of being out on her own and taking care of herself. [huge eye-roll]

Hi, lightenup! So glad you checked in with us today, girlfriend! I know it’s only been a week, but how are you enjoying living in Spain so far? I’ve never been to an Ikea but I’d really like to someday . . . if only just once, in order to see what the fuss is all about!!!!! ;-)
ORMouseworks: I’ve never had my ISP crash but I have had a computer crash before. It was pretty devastating to lose all my stuff so unexpectedly like that. While I got back as much as I could, I know to this day that I never got it all back. Ever since then, I have my husband back up my computer every now and then [although not as often as I should, I know] so that if something like that ever happened again, I’d be able to get the majority of it all back anyhow. Think maybe I’ll have him do it for me again today because it’s been a while since the last time.
