While I don’t have many on my giving list, we’re doing pretty well with both giving and keeping this year. I try to be a generous giver too.Hello Cathy clan!

While I did just buy a new dvd movie and a Celtic Woman Christmas CD for my husband and me to keep and not to give away, we’ve bought way more gifts for friends and family than we’ve otherwise kept for ourselves whenever we’ve gone shopping.

Thank you all so much for the belated anniversary wishes! We had a really great day Tuesday. We exchanged cards and gifts, toasted our happy 25 years together with a glass of champagne [in the same glasses we used at our wedding reception], went out to dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse, came home [and had another glass of champagne!] then watched a real nail-biting, had-us-on-the-edge-of-our-seats movie on Netflix [ “Olympus Has Fallen” staring Gerard Butler in case anyone hasn’t seen it and wants to check it out (although I must warn you that there’s a lot of flying bullets, bloodshed and dead bodies involved so if that bothers you, then you’d better not watch it!) ]. All-in-all, it was a very great day indeed!!!!! :-)

Hey sis! Thanks for the adorable Mickey and Minnie Mouse card. I absolutely LOVED it!!! Your sweet thoughtfulness is very much appreciated. I love all my special friends here on “Cathy’s Corner”!!!!!

I have never spent $9 on a wallet or $15 on perfume for anyone. Too expensive for those items. Never spent $2100 (not even $1500) on a computer system and we have had a top of the line one since the 1980’s. No gyms. No TV’s over $700 (and that was in 1979 for a console, no more than $300 now). Sound system? My first speaker was made made from my dad’s old shirt. Never more than $200 for a sound system and that was for husband, not me.

Prices are way too high in this comic, even for then. Now, slippers, I prefer the $5 fuzzy ones, but bought a pair for $30 – Woolrich. Lasted 5 years. Bought another pair to replace. Lasted 5 years, can no longer find. My good shoes are less than $30, so they were some slippers.
