My mom says we should have paid something in November, but I called Medicare and they say that if she gets Social Security, then the payment is deducted from that. I feel like this should be an easy answer, but is difficult when I’m doing it long distance.
@lightenup—-Medicare is indeed taken out of SS checks before she would receive her monthly payment. I believe that also includes the part D for prescriptions, if she has that coverage also. With part B, that is paid separately to companies such as United Health Care on a monthly basis. Mine is taken out of my bank account automatically every month by them. Maybe that is what she might be thinking of. Medicare covers about 80%, & if you have the optional supplemental part B, that usually covers the other 20%.
