    Hahahahahaha!!! So true! I love it when people claim they’re so “unique” and “individual”, yet they do exactly what others do. Yes, you are special and unique, just like the other 7 billion people on Earth.Good morning, Cathy clan!! You all are so kind. I don’t know what I’d do without the wonderful group that is here. Losing a loved one is a terrible thing, let alone at such a young age. A group hug for everyone with that hole in their heart.@kittycatpaws – That’s so sad, and I’m sorry that you had to go through that. Would you mind sharing anything that might help this little girl and her sister? Did anyone tell you something or do something for you that was helpful when your parents died? I’ve been telling Jr to just be there for her friend and listen when she wants to talk. I remember when my dad died that no one wanted to talk about him, probably because they didn’t know what to say, but I wish someone had just said something so I didn’t feel so alone.To everyone else – I’m sorry for the sad talk. I try to keep it upbeat, but sometimes life gets in the way.

    I went back and read yesterday’s comments. I know what you mean lightenup. I lost my Dad at 17 and miss him everyday 40 yrs later. Some things just don’t go away with time. I try to remember the good times.

    Mom’s comment in the last panel pretty well describes my daughter and me. Now 22, she told me recently: “Mom, I hate it when you’re right — which is pretty much all the time.”

    Sorry for the losses that my friends here are carrying around. lightenup, I think some good advice for jr. would be to supply hugs and “I’m so sorry” right now, but then especially to be there for her friend when things settle down, as in include her in fun things and then be willing to listen when she wants to talk. I’ve heard so many people say that after the funeral is over, people feel so bad and awkward that they do what’s easiest for them, which is to avoid the grieving person — and that is last thing you should do.

    My deepest condolences to all those who lost a parent (or parents) when they were so very young; that must have been terribly difficult. My mom is still alive and doing pretty well for being 76 years old but I lost my dad to lung cancer almost 11 years ago when he was 63 and I was 33 and I still vividly remember as if it were yesterday how hard that was for me back then even though I was an adult and prepared (well, as much as I could be anyhow) for the inevitable end. Even now, not a single day goes by that I don’t think about him and quite often, I find myself wanting to pick up the phone to call and tell him something . . . then I remember I can’t do that anymore, which makes me pretty sad — so I can’t imagine how tough it must be for someone who loses a parent when they’re a young child. So sorry to everyone here who has suffered such a loss.

    As for Cathy: as usual, what a real whack-a-doo! If I spent over $500.00 on all those expensive boxes like she did, I’d damn sure make up a system to organize my life and actually USE it!!!!! {HUGE eye roll !!!!!}

    Hi, rgcviper!

    Hello, fellow “Cathy” fanatics. I had a very busy day today so I just barely made it here before midnight. Hope everyone had a nice day today and I’ll be “seeing” you all again tomorrow!!!!! :-)

    As usual, the nut-job apple doesn’t fall far from the nut-job tree.

    HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.

    Lightenup i didn’t have anyone to take to when i was young my family didn’t talk about anything to us kids. The things that help me through it were to keep them in your heart and remember the fun times and the happy times you had with them . Keep the love you have and always have for them in your heart and close your eyes and you can see them because they are always with you. i meant to say talk to me sorry
