Uh, Cathy, bulk discounts don’t apply to shoes. Six pairs at 20% off still cost a LOT more than one pair at 15% off!

That’s a stretch even for you Cathy.

    Good morning, “Cathyites”.

I shop at a warehouse store about once a month or if i can stretch it, once every two months but things don’t last when you have three teen boys in the house. Who am I kidding? They don’t last with one.

The six shoes is going too far, but I am guilty of buying extra when it’s on sale, as long as I know I’m going to use it.Good morning, Cathy clan! I’m still enjoying my “me” time… thanks to all who confirmed that it’s a good thing!(Shyygirl, you are certainly busy! I’m surprised you have time for comics. :-))

Shoes are the ONLY thing I am weak on. 6 pairs sounds about right.

How timely — I just walked in with a 15-roll pack of my favorite toilet paper, on sale at the Dollar General. But I’m glad to say I have never bought six pairs of shoes at once.

Any of our friends here from the Boston area or runners in the marathon? Yesterday’s tragedy just makes me sick to my stomach. I try to be grateful every day for the health and safety of my friends and family far and wide.

Cathy had me in complete agreement with her . . . right up until the 3rd panel regarding her justification for buying 6 new pairs of shoes. Just yesterday she was in tears, crying to her mother about all the money she’s spent over the last year — including on a new pair of boots — and wondering why she did it! And yet, here she is, once again, spending money she can’t afford on even more shoes she doesn’t need. As I said then, remorse without promising to do better makes the regret at such actions absolutely useless . . . so why even bother? And apparently, she isn’t (letting it bother her, that is).

    Hi, rgcviper!

exoticdoc2: Look at all those “ankle busters” Cathy’s trying on and buying. Not exactly the kind of shoes she wears at the company where she works. Plus, she doesn’t date much so what fancy-schmancy place/event is she even going to wear them (or any of the OTHER shoes in her closet that are just like them, for that matter) to anyhow??? Take my word for it: unless a woman wears something like that for work every single day, shoes like that will last forever and will never wear out! As for Cathy not buying another pair of shoes until they do? That will NEVER happen either! She’s a shopaholic — plain and simple.

Hello and Happy Tuesday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today.

Feeling a great deal of sorrow today for everyone injured and killed in Boston yesterday. Many thoughts and prayers are going out to them right now. It’s so sad that such evil has to exist and that innocent people who’ve never done anything to anybody are nothing more than collateral damage in this new kind of “war” that all these nameless, faceless, pathetic cowards are trying to wage on us and our country. My heart is absolutely broken for those poor people . . . but if there’s one thing that 9/11 should have taught EVERYONE throughout the world, it’s this: you CAN’T and you WON’T bring us down!!!!! We’ll ban together and get through this — just like we ALWAYS do. We’re stronger than you . . . we’re better than you . . . and you’ll NEVER under ANY circumstances beat us!!!!! No matter what you do, we will prevail. We’ll hunt you down to the very ends of the earth and we’ll get you in the end — no matter how long it takes. We got Timothy McVeigh for Oklahoma City in 1995 . . . we got Osama bin Laden for 9/11 . . . and we’re going to get whoever was involved in yesterday’s heinous deed too; I have all the confidence in the world where that’s concerned. It’s times like this I sure wish we still had firing squads when it comes to carrying out a death sentence penalty because if ever there was a crime to fit such a punishment, it would definitely be THIS one.

Sorry for the rant everyone. I haven’t had the best of days so to help with that, I’m currently on the 2nd glass of one of my husband’s specially-made strawberry daiquiris so I’m really on a roll right now (and probably not making a whole lot of sense either!) so I hope you’ll forgive me!!!!! ;-)

So sad to watch the news of all those injured and killed — especially the children. My heart goes out to them. It is sad because anyone’s anger can now be turned into a deadly attack against those around them and that means that nobody is safe anywhere. At least when it was the “Commies”, it was 2 govts fighting it out and we didn’t have to fear that we would be bombed into obliviion on every street corner — or worse, at school — because somebody is mad at the world. I find it really hard to believe that our govt cannot do something about the “recipes” for these bombs being available to any nutcase that cares to check the Internet. I also find it hard to believe that our govt cannot do something about all the “hate” groups spewing their contempt for the rest of us and their threats to kill others blatently on the Internet. If I can find these groups (someone directed me right to a group like this) I know the govt can and I’m appalled to think that they are allowed to plot this type of terror against us. Sorry for the rant — now I’ll just sit quietly and wait for the next attack on American kids.

Whatever floats your boat, Cathy. (A definite nut-job boat, but still.)

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
