Susan, Charlie Brown is an inspiration to so many – especially those in “rats!”-provoking situations. ;)

Wow! Just caught up on a month of Cathy and Clan comments. Sure missed a lot! I was actually hoping that the Aaron and Billy mystery would be solved and they would be back chatting again. Oh well, still glad to see everyone else here!

it has been a rough winter for me. This is the first time in over a month that I am able to spend enough time on the computer to do anything at all – so naturally I read Cathy first. I was misdiagnosed with acute sinusitis for all of January and February and the first two weeks of March. I ended up in hospital mid March after the ER doctor realized that there was something else happening besides just a bacterial infection. He referred me to another doctor (he called us at home on a Sunday to let us know he was not happy with the blood test results and, since he was leaving on a family vacation that day, he forwarded the results to the dr. on call and for us to get to the ER ASAP (there are still doctors out there who really care!!) That dr. admitted me and referred me to the surgeon since I had problems that were not related to bacterial infection. The surgeon took two days to check me out ( ultrasound and CATscan and X-rays) and then referred me to our local expert in internal medicine ( for a small town we are lucky to have one). She took one hour to diagnose me as having an autoimmune disorder related to Wegener’s disorder ( scary reading on the net for this one). Two hours later I was transferred to a larger hospital in a city a 3 hour ambulance ride away. I had a kidney biopsy the next morning which confirmed the diagnosis and was immediately started on prednisone and a chemo treatment. Two days later I was recovered enough to be discharged home. That was a happy day indeed! < br>

I have been home for two weeks now and am gradually regaining strength and the ability to concentrate. Although the prednisone will continue for about 2 years I only have to have the chemo once every 3 weeks for a few months. Fortunately I had no adverse reaction to the chemo – my family and I laughter when we read the possible side effects. Hair loss – well that happened 40 years ago! I already was suffering all the other side effects so there was nothing else for the chemo to do to me! < br>

Anyhow, sorry for the long post but since I have been missing for so long I thout an explanation was in order.

Happy Birthday to all those I missed and I see the usual congratulations are in order for lighten up Jr. For those of you who also had a tough winter, you have my complete sympathy and understanding. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with the comments now. it is great to be back among friends!

$85 for that flimsy piece of cloth she’s wearing in her hair?! She definitely needs to consult “Shopaholics Anonymous” because she has absolutely no idea what the value of a dollar is (or in this case, 85 of them . . . not to mention what the rest of that ugly outfit must have cost, as well). Wish I could reach through my computer screen right now to give her a slap upside her head and say “What the HELL were you thinking?!?”

    Hi, rgcviper!

lightenup: How did the cheerleading competition go?

hendelca: So sorry to hear about your illness. I looked it up online and it DOES sound scary! How does your prognosis look?

Hello and Happy Monday, fellow “Cathy” fanatics! Hope you all had a really great day.

As for Cathy, I said last week she would give in and go to the accountant — I didn’t know she would try this game.

Clever, but still worthy of an [eye-roll], I’d say. Seriously—we should buy these [eye-rolls] in bulk around here.

I, too, am missing Aaron and Billy. Hope you guys are well, wherever you are now.

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
