Isn’t it amazing how you can go to virtually any political strip about a black man and find the racists frothing at the mouth? Just as they have always been.
Obama brought us universal health care. He realized 193 of his promises during his first term. He got us out of the war in Iraq, he ended the torture that Bush was using, techniquics that came from Nazi regime.He has done many good things in spite of the obstruction the GOP gave him.There has never been a congress so dedicated to doing nothing just to make a president look bad. I think Dr. MLK would be very proud.

Just curious, as many statistics re: blacks (crime rate, illegitimate birth) fail to reflect the % of blacks with poor educations and below the poverty level. If we compared the statistic of poor and poorly educated blacks against their white counterparts, how would the poor whites stack up? Think there might be a lot of crime and illegitamate births amongst that socio-economic group? I’d bet so. The crime and birth statistics probably hold up amongst most people with poor schooling and terrible economic situations.The pity here is that some poeple want you to believe the worst of blacks because they are black. They judge by the skin color alone.Exactly what MLK fought against; but some just don’t (or won’t) get the message. They say statistics alone prove their point, while failing to acknowledge that statistics can be twisted to accomodate any train of thought.And it’s usually these same people who wish to call others “rascist,” to cover for their own negative outlook.

The socioeconomic status of blacks in America today is as dismal as it is because of WHO – or WHAT? The white man??? – Well, that’s an easy and convenient reply, but it ignores many truths.The practice of enslaving free people from another land for the purpose of brutal and criminal mistreatment, forced labor, and no hope of freedom was a crime against God and against Man, and our ancestors committed and defended this criminal and barbaric institution for several hundred years. Until Abraham Lincoln in his wisdom saw that IT MUST ALL END. America has been working for the last 150 years to put right some of those horrific wrongs. Just In the last half-century, civil rights, particularly for blacks, has become much more legitimate, progressive, more enforceable, and part of an improved process of ‘reparation’ (if you will) for some of the harm and injustice done by the shameful past of slavery in America.
There are hundreds – maybe thousands – of villages in modern-day Africa which have not changed since before the first slaver ship docked on the African shore. There is no technology, no manufacturing nor industry, not even simple masonry construction…no structures more than one-story high…there are no airports, no cars, no commerce as we know it…there are no doctors save the one most practiced with herbs, potions an’ poltices. The language is primitive, and daily life is consumed with finding enough food to eat…In short, they are living just like their uncivilized ancestors who first saw the Europeans who would become our ancestors five or six hundred years ago.
No amount of effort, empathy, compassion, affirmative action, equality programs, time or money can right ALL the wrongs of that sordid an’ depraved era in America’s past. America will never stop striving for equality in every area of human opportunity. --‘Had it not been for the slave traders back in the fourteenth century and later… … then consider the possibility that Africans – the black man – may never have arrived in the Western Hemisphere at all. If not for the rapidly evolving and industrializing Europe, and the New World (primarily North America) into which the Africans were introduced – albeit through slavery – what can be speculated as to the modern day world? Africa may have languished behind like the Australian outback, and the Middle East, which are really very primitive by western standards except for the modern technologies that they have acquired from the colonial interlopers – y’know, USSR, USA, CHINA, etc, etc.__________
