Mrs. Angelini may have well watched those cartoons in their first run, if they are “Looney Toons”. But, to Nabuqudurluriuzhur’s reference…nowadays, most people wouldn’t know who Rock Hudson was, let alone Plymouth Rock variety chickens.

What makes you think she isn’t watching Looney Tunes?

What we’re talking about here is Roadrunner. The “anvil-crashing” reference gives that away. Those cartoons were suppressed and have never come back. It’s a damn shame.

“Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit…” Sung to the tune of “Ride of the Valkyries”.

“What’s Opera, Doc?” Richard Wagner’s 15 hour “Der Ring des Nibelungen” compressed into a six minute cartoon. One of the all-time great achievements in animation.

Yeah, like the older “Tom and Jerry” cartoons and “Droopy Dog” cartoons. I really loved the one “Droopy Dog” cartoon where Droopy is chasing this wolf that escaped from jail and the wolf hides in a movie theatre. The wolf is going to watch a movie and Droopoy appears on screen. The wolf’s eyes get HUGE and you hear the sound of an old car horn followed by a horse’s neigh like the wolf can barely scream with his tongue flapping around :-)
