I hope it’s not 10 lbs of his relatives’ body parts in that duffle!

Is he talking about the weight of his bag?

I think that instead of saying he stayed 10 days, he’s equating the time he stayed to the amount of weight he gained during his visit. You always (over)eat a lot of rich meals when visiting family.

Cartoonist’s note: Sorry for the confusion. My thinking was as we travel from airport to airport these days. Maybe we are concerned more with airport fees more than the length of time of our stay. Thanks for all of the comments!

Jeff, Thanks for explaining, but tnhippiechick put a cool spin on it as well. Both work!

Jeff—what are you smoking? Even your explanation is incomprehensible. Please—run a couple of old cartoons that everyone understood while you take a couple of days to regather your wits.

Sorry, Jeff – I’m afraid I was a little over the top with my comment above. (Okay – a lot over the top.) Your strip is near the top of my favorites list and is very seldom even moderately confusing. I’ll try to use a little more moderation in my remarks next time. Keep up the good work!
