I’ll believe this kind of garbage when an athiest can openly run for higher office. America is as theocratic as Iran — brazenly Bible-whipped by fundamentalists and their puppet politicians.

No, they object to paying anything for contraception.

Refusing to allow you to control the lives of others is not restricting your liberty, it’s preserving theirs.Yes, but religious fanatics don’t want others to enjoy the same freedoms they do. Religious freedom to some means you’re free to believe exactly as they do. If not, you’re a shameful sinner. Just look at the opposition to gay marriage.

“How to Determine if Your Religious Liberty Is Being Threatened in Just 10 Quick Questions.” Just pick “A” or “B” for each question.1. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) I am not allowed to go to a religious service of my own choosing. B) Others are allowed to go to religious services of their own choosing.2. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) I am not allowed to marry the person I love legally, even though my religious community blesses my marriage. B) Some states refuse to enforce my own particular religious beliefs on marriage on those two guys in line down at the courthouse.3. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) I am being forced to use birth control. B) I am unable to force others to not use birth control.4. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) I am not allowed to pray privately. B) I am not allowed to force others to pray the prayers of my faith publicly.5. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) Being a member of my faith means that I can be bullied without legal recourse. B) I am no longer allowed to use my faith to bully gay kids with impunity.6. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) I am not allowed to purchase, read or possess religious books or material. B) Others are allowed to have access books, movies and websites that I do not like.7. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) My religious group is not allowed equal protection under the establishment clause. B) My religious group is not allowed to use public funds, buildings and resources as we would like, for whatever purposes we might like.8. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) Another religious group has been declared the official faith of my country. B) My own religious group is not given status as the official faith of my country.9. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) My religious community is not allowed to build a house of worship in my community. B) A religious community I do not like wants to build a house of worship in my community.10. My religious liberty is at risk because:A) I am not allowed to teach my children the creation stories of our faith at home. B) Public school science classes are teaching science.Scoring key:If you answered “A” to any question, then perhaps your religious liberty is indeed at stake. You and your faith group have every right to now advocate for equal protection under the law. But just remember this one little, constitutional, concept: this means you can fight for your equality — not your superiority. If you answered “B” to any question, then not only is your religious liberty not at stake, but there is a strong chance that you are oppressing the religious liberties of others. This is the point where I would invite you to refer back to the tenets of your faith, especially the ones about your neighbors.

It’s for CEOs and the like who think they are entitled to exemptions for their companies based on their own personal religious beliefs.

He’s got his undies in a bunch because Hobby Lobby can’t force their workers to pay out-of-pocket for contraception. It’s a total non-issue. If you’re a church, you can discriminate against women in leadership positions, you can force kids to work for free, you can hire nuns for below minimum wage, you can deny your workers health care coverage. A very, very generous interpretation of the first amendment. But if you’re a business, you are NOT a church, and you can’t pull those stunts. I have no problem with this.

As a taxpayer, I will gladly pay for the contraceptives of the very poor, as in the long run that means they will not be bringing more and more very poor children into this world to suffer and even perhaps die a miserable death!

And contraception is NOT killing the unborn as conception never takes place!!

Please explain how I can refuse to fund a war machine (the US military) if I don’t believe its moral. Obviously it restricts my liberty to pay for it, That would really save me a few bucks on taxes

Get ready for part-time only jobs, higher taxes and being told what medical treatments you " qualify for" under O-Care. Oh and 6 month waits to actually see a doctor. Yay!

Yes, it DOES mean your liberty is being restricted. “Democracy” is nothing more than glorified mob rule, and the notion that a majority can legitimately trample the rights of minorities is a despicable way to organize a society.

Exactly my point. Why should you be forced to fund any of that? Are you a free human being, or merely a piece of government-owned livestock? But if you’re going to say it’s OK to steal from other people, to treat them like property, then you’re saying it’s OK to do the same to you. If you won’t respect the rights of other people to believe in things you don’t, and to live their lives in ways that you disapprove of, then you have no basis for claiming any rights for yourself, either.

Interesting comment, considering that the way leftists talk about “the rich” is so similar to how Hitler talked about “the Jews”. And considering how leftists are demanding the creation of a totalitarian police state and the obliteration of individual liberty to a degree that would have made Hitler jealous.

That is a decision for the business owner. You sit there, endorsing the use of violent coercion against people who have not done any violence to others, and you call anyone who OPPOSES violence a psychopath?!? Rush Limbaugh is a braying jackass, but he is absolutely correct about one thing: liberalism really IS a mental illness…

Why should you be able to use the roads supplied and paid for by other taxpayers (regardless of the level, federal, state, or more local)? Why should you be able to fly safely because of the FAA? They are also paid for by federal taxes. Why should you be able to have any confidence that the food you are eating is not poisoned, paid for by others tax dollars?

In fact, why don’t you stop using ANY governmental services paid for by other taxpayers?

Hey, lets go one better, Why don’t you go out into some wilderness and totally depend upon only yourself, as that seems to be what you really want to do. Just also get off of these boards, and stop using the internet, as that also depends on other people!

Please go, and be as independent as you seem to want to be, be my guest. Just leave the rest of we interdependent people alone!!!!
