Lapierre had a perfectly workable solution to the problem of gun violence in schools. Just put in enough armed guards to handle the situation. I estimate the average school would require about 10 armed guards to cover all of the doors.Where would we get the money to pay them? No problem, just tax each sale of weapons or ammunition enough to cover their salaries. That wouldn’t just cut down considerably on the sale of guns, it would be a big help in finding work for returning vets.If you’re wondering if I’m serious or this is satire— frankly so am I.

I never understood the fascination with guns and the Second Amendment mentions a “militia”. Something like the Swiss that can keep weapons ONLY after military service. But then the Constitution is words on paper interpreted by politically appointed hacks.

Right, Rocky. Take guns away from the law-abiding citizens, and the crooks and crazies will STILL get them, and we’ll be at the mercy of a tyrannical government. It isn’t the fork that makes one fat, or the gun that kills. It is the person using the instrument. Wake up!!!

No one wants to ban all guns, or at least almost no one. But who needs assault weapons, semi-automatics, 30-round clips, or even handguns? Not one of those weapons is meant to kill game. And Flake, if you think the bureaucrats are fascists, you are living in a different country than the U.S.. Congressmen are capitalists, and most would quiver in fright at taking on the 2nd Amendment.

Regarding the strip on 1/1/13: One of the most ignorant comics ever made. Why aren’t you writing strips showing a bunch of African children starving with the statement, Maybe it’s time to start growing more food or Maybe it’s time to move somewhere else where we can grow food. 100% ignorant. One of the worst stripes around.
