The same teachers they’ve been endlessly trashing as lazy and incompetent now can now be trusted to react better than trained law enforcement officers.

The same teachers whom the right-wing constantly trash, whom they want to cut security & salary will now have weapons. Hmmm.

I’m not a gun freak, but I think this idea merits serious consideration.

At the very least, they would be on scene sooner than the trained law enforcement officers … just sayin’

Agreed with ebsan, this makes the most sense. Laws are not going to effect the nut cases that should be in a asylum. No gun zones are like a magnet to them. At least with a guard and only one enterance the kids would have a chance.

If you want to carry a gun or a knife or nunchuckas you should have training in them as good as any police officer. You must be licensed to carry and not just paying the money but real training. We know that the criminal element is about 1% of the population.

Alcaraz prefers dead teachers and dead students.

Didn’t the shoot out at the Empire State Building proved that not even trained police officers can be trusted to open fire without endangering innocent bystanders.

Lapierre had a perfectly workable solution to the problem of gun violence in schools. Just put in enough armed guards to handle the situation. I estimate the average school would require about 10 armed guards to cover all of the doors.
Where would we get the money to pay them? No problem, just tax each sale of weapons or ammunition enough to cover their salaries. That wouldn’t just cut down considerably on the sale of guns, it would be a big help in finding work for returning vets.
If you’re wondering if I’m serious or this is satire— frankly so am I.

Taxing bullets is the best way to limit fire arms deaths. The first 10 at a low price, then the more you buy, there is a tally, the more expensive they get. Beyond a certain number the police and FBI will visit you wondering why you need so many.

not better (at least not necessarily better, most cops aren’t as well trained as most CCW carriers), but sooner.

I blew away 75 in a trap shoot today, this is grounds for an FBI investigation?
.
Oh, and I’m against arming teachers simply because I can think of a few teachers who would have probably taken us all out if they were armed.
