Good morning, Vagabonds. Second day in a row I didn’t leave my room until noon. IEach night I’ve been buying a banana so I could eat something in order to have enough energy to walk to my favorite restaurant: El Trapiche. Once at the restaurant I had a plate of cantaloupe and a delicious freshly-squeezed glass of orange juice. In the evening I visited an old friend who has a small jewelry store and then took a bus to a neighborhood where an old friend whose children call me “Tio” live. In fact one of the children is named after me.

Anybody make New Years resolution(s)?Originally I decided not to make any resolutions, because ifit was very serious, I’d probably break it within a month. Now, I have made one that will only be viable for a couple of months(?)I live in a building that has 400 rent units. mostly one bedroom and studio units with a dozen or more two bedrooms. That is a lot of people, some of which already have the flue.My resolution: Not to loeave the building unless absolutely necessary. Not to leavr my room except for mail and in house needs. When I return to my room, I wash my hands. With COPD, the flue can be deadly.

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

Okay, cantaloupe for breakfast sounds great! I’ll have that with my yogurt. Thanks for the suggestion, Arye……or should I say Tio.

You are really smart, Slim! Hopefully the flu season won’t last too long, or you’ll really get Cabin Fever!

Slim, you are a smart man. Stay away from common areas and wash the hands regularly. (I read an article just yesterday that washing the hands is THE most effective way to stop the spread of the flu.)

Adventures in RV ownership: Yesterday was the last day to re-register our RV with the DMV. Between a completely dead battery, long wait times for the roadside assistance people (twice), getting it smogged (required every year in NV) and registering it, we spent more than 8 hours mostly sitting in an unheated RV waiting for someone to show up. In the middle of all this, I had to go back home to work for a couple of hours, so my husband – who was sick in bed with a head cold – took over the duties for a while. Right now, she has a new battery, but the ignition security feature is malfunctioning and it takes a bit of finesse to get it started again.Ain’t we got fun!!!
