Iy would be so nice if they would start at the same time every night. There are times when “about” doesn’t cut it.

MontanaLady, re, your last post yesterday.I think we both must have some of the same movies. I’ve gotten some of those “compilations”, with a recognizable name in the casttOne wonder if they had been broke, or blackmailed in to doing those movies?

Good morning, vagabonds, I’m packed – I only need to pack the things I need right up to when I leave, such as my laptop.

I viewed my copy of “Phone Booth.” Excellently crafted film.

Morning, Village.I just found another Our Gang film that I didn’t have in my collection. Made in 1923, it’s called Sunday Calm.

Good Morning, Village People:MOVIES UPDATE: Going out on limb, my Oscar Predictions (Best Film): A race between Lincoln & Zero Dark Thirty with dark horses Amour & Argo. I predict the nominations will include the above films, plus Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Silver Linings Playbook, and Life of Pi. Les Miz made only a couple of the 2012 “Top Ten” lists and does not have strong support by the majority of the movie critics. Ditto Skyfall. The nominations will be announced on 1/10. :-)

    Good Morning, Everyone,

Florchi, I love watching the old DC-3’s fly! They seem to just float at take off, as if it was no effort at all. I’ll bet it was noisy on the inside, though.

What a night……………….it didn’t dip below 30! Woo Hoo! We have a bunch of errands to run, and it’s supposed to snow tonight. We haven’t had any snow since Christmas. Everything is still white, but, our “yard” looks a mess…..all those animal tracks churning up the snow. We still feed our wild animals…….vegetable and fruit trimmings that would normally go into the compost pile. But, we know how hard it is for the deer to find food in the winter, so we add a helping hand.

Have a wonderful trip, Arye! Safe travels! Take lots of pictures for us!

Thanks everyone for your wishes. I expect to be gone for 2 weeks and, yes, I’m bringing my laptop with me to stay in touch.

    Good afternoon Vagabonds.

I have been having a HORRIBLE time with my internet service! I can’t seem to get anywhere except my home page and sometimes my mailboxes. I’m actually logged in through my office PC in CA (via GoToMyPC.com which bypasses my browser). It’s a lot slower than normal, but at least it works.

    Arye, have a wonderful trip.

Sweetbill: I went back and looked up Sunday’s Beetle Baily after seeing your comment from yesterday. I think he had a typical, albeit shortened version of the theory. What I got a kick out of was all the comments on Daily Ink about the last panel. There was some real concern about Beetle getting the teeth beaten out of him on a regular basis. Enough so that Gig Walker actually responded to explain why he gets beat up so often. Not a single comment on the evolution story.

There’s been such a lack of anything worth watching on TV lately, we’ve been watching a lot of dvds. The other day, M said he wanted to watch “something old”, so I picked out “12 Angry Men” and we both enjoyed it thoroughly. Like Arye, we have copied a lot of our VHS tapes to DVD, and while they aren’t the best quality – especially if the original tape was too old or damaged – they were a lot cheaper than buying new copies. Occasionally, we come across one that is just not good enough so we do replace it (like Victor/Victoria – you MUST have a good clear copy of that one).
