That McConnell did this is a good thing. It was another illustration that McConnell and the Republicans are not interested in the welfare of the country, but only in protecting the interests of the rich.-More importantly, it makes clear the need for changing Senate rules to make it harder to abuse the use of the filibuster.

I don’t know. I live in Kentucky and they seem to be pretty proud of him.

He’s not just the worst minority leader ever, he’s one of the worst senators ever. I struggle to understand why people would be proud of, and re-elect, someone who would vote to shut a major bridge in his hometown down to traffic because it was unsafe..“Well … it’s a Obama ‘free’ bridge. We don’t want no one crossin’ no Obama ‘free’ bridge inta our God-fearin’ land.”

Sounds like Mitch McConnell had a little chat with someone that sounded a bit like this…

“But I CAN’T filibuster my own bill!”

“Then WE can’t fund your campaign next time around. "

Old men’s magazine cartoon: Obviously worn-out man is in his doctor’s office. The doctor is saying to him, “No, no! I told you to ‘masticate’ your meat thoroughly at each meal!”.Sorry.

Considering that you are in Germany and Bernie Sanders is a Socialist I can see why you admire him.

Sen. McConnells filibustering is the equivalent of throwing a tantrum. The good people of Kentucky really should think of retiring this old coot before he embarrasses himself & the body of the Senate any further.

LOL, ya just gotta love the hypocrisy. When one of those on the other side of the aisle does this they are, “standing by their principles.” When someone you disagree with does it the are “obstructionists.”Seriously, get some principles yourself for once, don’t be so bleeding transparent.

This is a premier example of republican hypocrisy. Why, tell me why is it that the republicans have NO honor. NO decency. NO integrity. The filibuster tomfoolery just proves it to all the world.

Maybe we should bring in a law stating you can’t filibust a bill that you introduced. I’m sure that nobody thought such a law would be necessary before this happened, but now….. yeah, someone should put that forward.

The House writes the budget, not the President. Both the House & the Senate have to pass the budget before the President can even think about signing it.If Congress doesn’t want to pay for something, don’t vote for it in a budget. The Republican antics over the debt ceiling are hypocritical and irresponsible.

That was awesome! McConnell proposed a bill and when Reid called his bluff he filibustered himself. LOL!

Never a more blatant example of GOP party-first tactics.
