Yeah, the hell with peace. War should only be engaged in if there is profit to be made!!!

My original comment was to make a flip remark about Putin having a nice place in Siberia for Mr. Assad, but dammmmmm.
Mr. Ima forgets there are people who don’t understand sarcasm and irony and might feel there are actually people in the US who would approve of Assad using sarin gas on his own people. I hope you’re just being sarcastic and ironic, Ima.
Scott, your demoncrat insult is kinda cute in the right context, but your comment as a whole is just plain incorrect and mean. What military units FOUGHT in Libya? And how is it NOT in the US interest for Syria to have a stable government that can keep chemical weapons from being stolen or military attacks made over the border into Israel, Jordan, Turkey, & Lebanon?
Thegreatack, War can be quite addictive and few addicts care about profit, they just try to charge more for what they distribute. However, Eisenhower did warn us of the Military/Industrial complex. His original speech is said to have said Congressional/military/industrial complex. Politicians and Generals too frequently find homes in corporations that profited from the help given them by Pols and Generals. There have been attempts to place time limits between one resigning from their job and taking a position with a corporation with whom they had dealings, but they always fail.
I hope they try again.
Respectfully,
& Happy Holidayze

And would you be so kind as to inform the rest of us mere mortals about ALL the benefits to the U.S. of the shrub’s war in Afghanistan?

Only 20 days left in my ghoul pool and Assad is still alive. DOH!

If only Assad would take Putin up on his offer. The two tyrants would make such a cute couple.

Don’t hold your breath awaiting a reply…
Or perhaps Howie will step up—-he is known to leave “Mr.” Ima alone in the sandbox on occasion!

I’ve got friends who lost their son on Thanksgiving Day 2004 in Fallujah. So how the hell did invading Iraq exactly help the U.S. except killing a lot of Americans. If I’m correct, that is a Republican war instigated by Cheney and his minion, the Deserter-in Chief George W. Bush!

The rebels are Al-Qaida, Assad is backed by Iran. No matter who wins, we lose. The best outcome would be to continue the war for a decade or two, just like in the Iran-Iraq war.
So long as muslims kill muslims, they aren’t targeting us.

@vtcwvet
So your point is Cheney decided to go to war in Iraq without anybody else’s approval?
No one else agreed with this?
.
You offend a lot of people who served this country in the National Guard when you assert that they are “deserters.”

Yeah, that pesky al Qaeda, after 9/11 I’m sure that they thought they made their point and so they weren’t planning any further attacks on Americans. We way overreacted by taking out their leaders.
And I’m sure all of those world leaders who were behind us didn’t see any benefit at the time, they just agreed because Bush told them to.

1. The US was attacked by Arab Muslims. They were Gulf Arabs, but Gulf Arabs are essential to US interests, and so are unassailable. The Biblical edict, ‘An eye for an eye’ meant the US had to kill some Muslims, whether Arab or not, and some Arabs, whether Muslim or not, but no Gulf Arabs. (Oh, and some Sikhs just for looking like Muslims or Arabs, even though they are neither.) So Afghanistan and Iraq were perfect targets. Disrupting the supply of Iraqi oil was like the Goldfinger movie: it greatly increased the value of the oil owned by members of the Bush, Jr administration. The Bush, Jr administration would have been very stupid to pass up this perfect opportunity!
2. The Bush, Jr administration had irrefutable proof that Saddam HAD HAD WMD: it had the invoices. How could they have known that Saddam had already used up every last one of his WMDs on Kurds and Iranians? An honest mistake. So the war was completely justified. Had the US not gone to war in Iraq, had those US soldiers not bravely given their lives, the US would now be under Sharia Law, as Fox News has irrefutably verified!
