So what was Opal going to make with “All that bacon”? Perhaps a BLT, yummie in the tummie, don’t forget the mayo.

It’s out there already…There was a booth selling chocolate covered bacon at the county fair…

You can also buy a fancier version in some chocolate shops, or bacon chocolate bars in upscale groceries, and there are online recipes, too.

I love both bacon and chocolate…but I can’t bring myself to try the combination.

It’s kind of similar to something with chocolate and salted peanuts in it.

There’s always the notorious Bacon Burger Dog. Foot long hotdog, split with cheese in the middle, wrapped in burger meat, wrapped in bacon. Slow baked or grilled, but put it in a foil “boat” or it may come apart on the grill. Several thousand calories per.

I love bacon, but I draw the line at bacon dipped in chocoate. I draw the line at most anything dipped in chocolate except peanutbutter. That’s the only instance where 2 wrongs make a right.

Ahhh! Dark chocolate and just about anything is good but fresh french bread with chocolate is very special. Bacon with dark chocolate is delicious. Haven’t tried all three together, hmmm I’m thinking special Solstice treat!

Salt, sweet, and Pork fat . . . find some way to add beer, then you have a well rounded snack of all 4 meaningful food groups.

You will never see a “plate” of bacon in our house. It disappears before you blink. Usually doesn’t even make it to the plate.

The “chocolate-covered bacon” candy bars I’ve had are like Nestle’s Crunch bars with bits of bacon instead of crisped rice, rather than strips of bacon dipped in chocolate. Very acceptable, but not the exponential taste sensation (for good or ill) one would expect from combining the wonderfulness of those two flavors.

Vosges chocolate bacon bar… Bought one for my husband for Father’s Day one year and he kept taking a bite to see if he liked it. Somehow the whole thing disappeared pretty much instantly—good stuff. (They need to make a dark chocolate version too, though.)

Have you ever noticed, that the two aromas which will get people out of bed in a good mood, is bacon frying and coffee brewing ?

There is a store in Santa Cruz, Ca. that sells chocolate covered bacon. It’s a good combination and they sell a lot of it. Some people really love it, others don’t.
