For a second I thought it said “Happy New Year ’02”.

Notice that Quill was willing to tie Luann up for her New Year’s Eve but quite possibly went out to enjoy a real life celebration in his own time zone. One day Luann will wake up and realize what an idiot she was to sacrifice time with her friends to sit at home alone with her computer.

He should say, “New Year!? That’s so yesterday!”

I guess Crystal came with Knute, seeing as Tiff seems to be nowhere to be found… looks like Gunther may be falling for Rosa after all… I don’t like the looks of this!

Luann looks more enthusiastic about the new year than Q. does. When is she going to realize a real life BF is much better than a virtual one? Actually, she’s much less obnoxious when she doesn’t have a boyfriend.

Their New Year’s kiss last year was so cute. Maybe that’s what they are thinking about.

I was hoping to see a smooch between Rosa and Gunther. She could have surprised him!

Looks like Lu is getting ready to flash Quill.

SO nice to see Gunther with Rosa, and acting like a human, not a space alien. In fact, they’re acting very much like a couple. Which would be interesting, since so far we’ve had only Frank and Nancy, Brad and Toni, a very little Bernice and Zane that looked vaguely like they could have been a couple, the sadly chaste Crystal and Knute, and the ho-hum cyberQuill and Luann. Amazing that you could have a group of 16-year-olds and NONE of them have what looks like a normal relationship. Tiff by her own admission has never had a steady BF. Huh? Crystal and Knute have gone out, but we have the impression they’ve never even kissed. Now THAT I’d like to see! Really enjoy both characters, and even though I don’t think they could make it in the long run, it’d be cool to see them smooch at least ONCE. Hey, maybe for New Year? Knute, quick! Swap the bowling ball for mistletoe and give her a smooch. She’d be a real grinch to not accept it.

Lovers’ Lane is a bowling alley? Guess it works for Rosa/Gunth and Crystal/Knute!*Qwerty, maybe in comparison Luann’s party isn’t so lame. But note, Quill doesn’t have a hat, decorations, and is less than excited.

i really dislike this romance between Quill and Luann. What a waste. They should both be dating people in flesh and blood. I hope this story line ends soon. They are much too young to tie themselves up like this.

Please, whatever you do, Knute, do not drop the bowling ball!

Happy new Year, too all you Luann fans. This is a comic strip not real life. Its fun, Quill and Luann, will somehow over came the distance between them. Go Gunther. Have a safe new year. If driving, no drinks.

I’m guessing Greg Evans is a Beatles fan. Anybody notice the name of the bowling alley in the first panel?

I like the last panel, sort of a bitter sweet kinda end. But it makes me think of the wonders awaiting in 2013 :)

It looks to me like Bernice and Delta may have somwthing going on between themselves. It’s been years since either have even given a guy a second look and they do spend alot of time together.
